As benyl states, it is carbon. The photos are likely from the dealer's phone and really aren't clear enough to see the details. Yours will be awesome as well.

I'll post better photos when available. It is getting more and more difficult to wait!

The brightwork on the tailpipes and trim above give away that it's CF and not night styling.

oh yes, you are quite right. i did not look close enough. the rocker strip looks a little glossier than carbon, but probably just the lighting.

help. i ordered my car 3 weeks ago and still do not have a build date or confirmation from the dealer. this is very frustrating for a first mb order. we were taken much better care of when we bought an M5 last year. what do i do, the dealer is not helping at all!!

Many of us waited 6 months to a year to get our wagons. They only make 10/month.

Dealer can't help. Mercedes corporate controls allocations.

Yup! Ordered in June, given a confirmed build date in December, car is "on the water" now with a due-in-dock date of 2/15 with a "to-the-dealer" date of 2/22. Not exactly like ordering a car that you see every day. Out here in AZ, we see M-5's all the time but have never seen an AMG wagon on the road.

Wagons aren't for immediate gratification sadly. Worth wait. My first Benz in 28 yrs. and I'm thinking E39 M5 fun or close out of this thing.

Dealer didn't know car built early. Factory didn't tell them. They have no control.

ok, dealer called yesterday and said they received a letter. the order is being pulled feb 10th. 8-12 week delivery after that. sound right?

Sounds about right... Lucky you got a build slot that quickly. I'm on the same timeframe as KeyserS with an unofficial order more than a year ago and the car is still not home yet (built - sitting in Bremerhaven for the last 2 weeks waiting for a cruise ticket).

Mine is arriving at the dealer this evening from Baltimore and will be prepped and ready for pickup tomorrow. My boat arrived last Saturday. Ordered in May. I think mine is the 3rd wagon for this dealer since they opened the order book.

Picked up from the dealer on Saturday. Weather hasn't been great, so only put about 30 miles on her so far but very impressed with the experience. This is a beautiful and well executed car.

Yeah, I did the Skip Barber school at LS in 2000, so it's been a while but I still remember the track pretty well. It will be a whole different experience in an AMG powered vehicle vs those little FF open wheelers that Skippy uses.

that looks great. my build is very similar to yours, except I was not able to get carbon interior trim - dealer said it was unavailable. mine should be here in about a week.

can anybody explain $2k above invoice is equivalent to how much $ off MSRP?
i've been seeing many dealers now w/ 2014s in stock...106k to 117k, so curious what that translates to.
also, i'm seeing 2012/2013s going for $80k-ish.
anyone driven them vs. 2014s...how do they compare, and are new ones really worth $30k more? thx in advance.

I have been reading on the forums about wait times ranging from 6months to about 1 year untill a wagon will will be available. I went on Tuesday (Feb-11)to place an order and received an email Friday morning that I would be able to receive my Euro delivery amg wagon on 5/28. Now I am not complaining the speediness, but more curious why there would be one so quickly available. Did I get another persons slot that was recently dropped, etc.. ?
