2014 E63 S Wagon Only Order Placed Threat

I have been reading on the forums about wait times ranging from 6months to about 1 year untill a wagon will will be available. I went on Tuesday (Feb-11)to place an order and received an email Friday morning that I would be able to receive my Euro delivery amg wagon on 5/28. Now I am not complaining the speediness, but more curious why there would be one so quickly available. Did I get another persons slot that was recently dropped, etc.. ?
Build:
Steel Grey - 19inch Titanium - Amg Exterior/Interior Packages - Drivers Assist - Surround View system - Black Nappa w/ silver trim - Bang/olufsen - rear heated seats
Thanks in advance for any input

Some of us got early "intent to buy" slots, then June order/allocation bank opened, so June-Jan delivery tolerable. Engines were short supply, and wagon production seems to happen in batches, so now engines and builds moving, should be better.
Suspect delayed gratification not high on list of some buyers, so perhaps dropout, but press so good I'm surprised people flake.
Good luck, Gruene Holle nice in late May

ordered Saturday and had to wait a few days to pick it up. kidding, I bought a highly optioned 14' amg wagon that someone never picked up. the story is pretty funny b/c I spent the morning driving around sketchy Bay Area neighborhoods looking for a c43 and stopped by MBSF to look at a wagon and found the AMG up on the roof dusty and dirty in a corner (not kidding) with 77 miles on the clock. I looked at it and said "yeah that'll work" and salesman sort of coughed...
2014 e63 AMG Wagon
Palladium Silver with Black Nappa
Carbon Ceramic Brakes
Full Carbon Fiber upgrade
B&O
The best "value" upgrade might be the 19" 10-spoke black wheels
ps feel free to pm me on regarding price, financing, warranty, deal making, or anything else about the '14 etc...
pss I am going to AMG driver school for one day at Seca (Oct 26th is first choice)

Congrats on the new wagon JMG!
Mine will look closely like yours, except night package and mystic red interior minus carbon fiber engine cover. Car got unloaded in Halifax on the 8th, cleared customs yesterday and is waiting for transport. Dealer will truck the car (no train) so might be quicker! Cant wait to see it in person, I'm hoping somewhere next week (unless somethin bad happens)!

Car got to dealer yesterday! Timeframe for those waiting for a car:
build date june 10th
on boat on june 24th
Halifax july 8th
dealer July 14th
Went to clear paperwork this morning and will take delivery tomorrow (unless my wife gives birth to our 3rd one - due tomorrow!).
Here are a couple of pics before the PDI.
Concerning the uncertainities:
1- car has Pirellis on!
2- AMG badge grille is on
3- button for headrest release is present
4- even with Bang car came with collapsible spare (was under the impression that Tirefit kit would be only option)
It seems my engine builder is a woman (Melissa?). Glad my engine will have been built with the mother instinct!
Better pics to come!

Congratulations. Glad you finally got your car. So how long was it from the order date of your first car until now? Must be well into the second year.

Here is an important reminder for future owners - tell your dealer (get it in writing) that the deal is OFF (or they can replace entire bumper) if they drill holes in your front bumper for a license plate kit. I bought mine with it on, but don't want to see you special order guys end up with pilot holes like me that are plugged!

Good thing is we dont have front plates in Québec. Then again first car I bought new the dealer screwed a plate with dealer name on it... never trust anybody!

July 16th 2014 will be remembered until I die as the birthday of my 3rd kid, our 2nd daughter.
July 17th 2014 will be remembered for a couple of months as the day I got my *** in my 2014 wagon... after a lot of expectations and reading on this foroum.
Not much driving impressions... did mostly some traffic jam driving to go get my son from daycamp and going back and forth from home to hospital to see wife and baby. I think anyways everything's been said a couple of times in a couple of threads!
I can only say that I'm still intimidated by the beast! Will take a couple of weeks to get comfortable with the size and power of this thing. Oh and sound is awesome, not as raw as the 6.3 but!
I had fun tonight blacking out some chrome with shadowline trim... rear chrome strip and window surrounds done... now I'll attack grille but it's quite complicated so I'll probably only do the surrundings and leave the wings ad star silver.
I also tried the 19 inchers I have since november in my garage and to my surprise they clear the CCB and the huge deflector behind rotors. For those looking for 19 in winters these work!
Man these brakes could stop a truck!
