With a 21 gallon tank and you guys getting ~375-425 miles per tank that equates to about 17-20mpg. That's really incredible for such a high performance car! Are these figures mostly highway?

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Yes it is pretty amazing for a nearly 600 horse power car. Around town when I drive to Tennis mostly back roads at 40 to 50 mph and some lights and stop signs I get around 21 mpg, when I drive from RI to Boston which is about an hour and half highways at 65 to 70 mph I'm at around 22.5 mpg. I have seen as much as 24 mpg if I drive real conservative and as little at 14 mpg if I'm hammering down a lot. I do find the gas mileage to be about 25 to 30 percent better than the CTS-V I had and that car only had a 18 gallon tank, I got really tired quickly of putting gas into that car all the time. The Merc seems much more like a regular car only when I do want to go fast it beats the Caddy by around 1/2 second in the quarter mile and it just feels a lot more lively when you get on it.

So many of us had CTS-Vs. I remember thinking that car had a hole in the gas tank. Sometimes barely 200 miles on a tank, and with the 6 speed the final drive was way too short. Nothing like the Z06.
I do miss how toss-ible the V was and that I was never afraid to mod it. None of the bits or risks were pricey. Now I couldnt fathom replacing the 5.5TT motor, so no tuning for the time being.

E63 s wagon at Road America
Had a chance to do a couple hot laps at RA a couple weeks ago, and a good chance to run this thing up a little bit. For a 4600 lb. car it handled pretty well. Got it up to 140 a few times and was able to push pretty hard in the turns. On lap 2 the car took over and did all the downshifting at the right time and gear. simply amazing how this stuff works. Brakes started going away on lap 3 so I was done. If you have a chance to do this replace the stock fluid first.
A bigger rear bar and sticky tires would make this thing a blast!

spotted a 2014 Silver e63 AMG Wagon in North beach last night and thought "hey thats my car", but it was missing the full carbon fiber and CCB, and then thought "hey thats my car and they took off the (squeaky) CCB and carbon", kidding and no my CCB don't squeak

IF you by a new AMG you get a free day of AMG Driver School thrown in and I just went last weekend, it was pretty fun (and tiring). Got to drive the SLS around Laguna Seca....learned a lot about driving and MB's range of cars (no comment on other models, E's rule supreme).

Randy Pobst e-mailed his thoughts after his timed run in the car at Laguna. He thought a bigger rear bar would help the car rotate. You have to consider he drives a bit harder then most of us.
My experience at RA was a little too much push exiting the higher speed corners. With the GT3 when it starts pushing you feather back a bit ,the front hooks up and you power through the rest of the turn. The Merc doesn't seem to push early in the turn, but at the end of track out.
Randy was able to toss the car a bit in slower turns to compensate, but I am not comfortable doing that while exiting turns in excess of 100mph.
Other then that the car is great. Im not doing anything to it, since its not my track car. Fun though, one corner worker called in and said, there is a white station wagon doing 156 in the speed trap coming into 5, what the hell is that?
I might add, if you do any track stuff change the brake fluid!

E63 Wagon or RS7?
Have found two great deals in Toronto to trade my C63 for.
2014 RS7 fully loaded except no Drivers Assist (new) or
2014 E63s wagon, fully loaded, plus CCB and rear entertainment (5750 km)
With the trade both cars are almost the same price.
I definitely need more room than the C63 and really cant decide on which car to go for.

You'll definitely have more room in the E wagon... But the interior of the RS7 is one step ahead...

Test drove both and final decision the winner was the E63 in either sedan or wagon.
Has more sound, more brutal accel, brings the emotions to the driving experience.
I felt the RS7 was a bit too civilized for me.

2019 E63 S
Correct. That being said, Mercedes of Massapequa in Long Island has a loaded white 2014 E63 S wagon. Black leather interior and B&O sound system among many other options. Sticker is like $122k. Pretty much has every option other than carbon ceramic brakes. I saw it and sat in it because I wanted to test the B&O to see if I wanted it in my 2015 E63 S sedan.
But you are right. E63 S wagons that are in dealer stock are super rare.
