NON "S"

Looks like majority of people are ordering the "S"...has anyone taken delivery of a non "S"?

Would love to read their impressions!

Would also love to read "S" vs non "S" experiences!

I have only heard of one person on these forums with a non-S. The cold-hard truth is the S is so compelling compared to the regular E63. You get so much extra for comparatively little money that it's the obvious choice for most.

Beyond the extra HP and torque, I don't really see what's so compelling. I'm not a fan of the spoiler and the little cosmetic differences.

On top of the HP and torque bumps, you also get the alcantara performance steering wheel (which is amazing), and the Limited slip diff, red calipers, titanium-colored wheels, illuminated door sills, silver seat belts and contrast stitching, spoiler and conjoined quad tailpipes, plus sundry other subtle cosmetic things.

I'm not saying the regular E63 is not an amazing car by itself, because it is, just the S is a great value especially compared to what you got with the optional performance package in past years. Each to his own though

Exactly...everything mentioned above is great. I would really like to read about how they both perform head to head.

Mercedes Benz E63
Hey Owly,
I have a non-S E63 coming in a few weeks. While I can't speak of it head to head with an S version, I'll be posting my thoughts and pics on it.

The extra HP and torque were nice - as would a B&O stereo - but I decided to save some and use that money on my house projects.

I did add for my ride: Night Styling, Chrome Door Handle inserts, and the AMG Performance Steering Wheel. Couple of other small things that escape me right now.

Great! Can't wait to read about your experience. In Canada I think the only thing I would add is the Premium Package.

I'm not sure how much the extra power and LSD would factor into daily driving and I'm always motivated to save some bucks!

I have a non s coming in the UK, there are cheap lease deals being offered on the normal car of approx £600 per month over two years, the s is about £1100 a month.

With both the cars being rwd only here, even the standard power can be a struggle to use and with almost double the monthly payment it didn't make sense to order the s, I doubt I would ever really notice the difference day to day.
