2014 Fleet discount hot tip
When I went in yesterday to pick up my E63S yesterday, I was fortunate to qualify for fleet discount (AMA member). I had my sheet already filled out and had faxed it to the dealer weeks before.
We went through the transaction...the $2500 fleet discount was there appropriately. After I got home, I had an email from MB Fleet operations with an electronic copy of the certificate only it was a newly update version.
There was a change in October increasing the fleet discount on several 2014 modes (E, CL and SL). The discount went from $2500 to $4000! Needless to say, I emailed the buisiness manager at the dealership and he called and told me it was an oversight, the form changed recently and they didn't realize it. (I wonder if they would have figured it out on their own and called me...) They are going to cut me a check for $1500! Glad I read that email...
Here is a copy paste for those interested with pertinent portion in bold.

Those look like the same numbers from USAA for this month. For the E class, the fleet money was $3500 in Sept and October. Now it's $4K.
MBCA discount is currently $500, and should be combinable with fleet money.

And reading my fleet discount certificate just realized I am stuck with $2500 discount
"Provide this form to the authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership of your choice and receive the applicable fleet incentive toward the purchase/lease of a new Mercedes-Benz vehicle (includes Ex-Courtesy Vehicles). One (1) control number per employee per calendar year and the Control Number listed below is valid for one (1) year from issue date. All sections of the form must be completed. "
AMA is much better deal than FEP.....

335,
How did you go about using your AMA discount? Do you have to deal with the dealership's fleet manager, or can you negotiate and use the AMA discount afterwards? Looks like you did the latter.

Pretty darn easy. No need to be a member for year or whatever...

My dealer said that to use the United discount (same as fleet) basically they are told that they mark the car a certain amount off MSRP ($3,500) and then apply the certificate ($4,000) for a total savings off MSRP of $7,500. There is no negotiating, it's just a formula. Maybe he is just making that up.

You just never know. The USAA numbers are set monthly. To be honest, I was surprised that this car was not excluded from the E-class program.
My guess is that as long as they do not suddenly exclude this model, then the incentive will stay pretty beefy through 31DEC. MB wants to move units. When 01JAN rolls around, it's anybody's guess.

This was according to my dealer this past week. Original build date was the first week in Jan, after the carbon interior trim restriction was released it moved to the last week of Jan.

I was not aware of such rebates. I looked arround and unfortunately QMA (Quebec Medical Association) does not have such programs. Ontario and BC Associations have a 750$ rebate on the E-class. I'm looking at the websites of all the associations I have a membership with to try to find something... thanks for the tip!

Latter. I negotiated with a sales guy a friend recommended. I got my price. Then I asked about AMA and was told it could be used with the deal I had already made. I just needed to get the certificate and give it to the dealer.

Ahh, so it is really American Medical Association, which should really be disbanded because they really don't represent physicians. If you are a physician/surgeon, you should support AAPS instead IMO.
But whoever can sign up for the membership should still use the saving. At least the AMA is good for something finally. That part about paying half of a year due first is definitely a good idea.
As always, negotiate first and tell them the discount later.
