C63-->E63 upgrade thoughts...
Hey all, just chiming in to see if anyone can offer any insight as to their switch from a C63 to E63 experiences.
Right now im happy with my C63, but my concern is road comfort during everyday commute.
Unfortunately my commute has gone to become 40min each way every morning, for this past year and moving forward, and C63's ride is getting to me. Its not only the suspension comfort, but also road roar noise and general overall quietness. I do not have the performance pack. I realize tires, pressure, and a lot of other factors contribute to this. I don't have a family, but do have clients riding in the back from time to time. One client actually got nauseous once. I once did ride in the rear, and was appalled how downright awful the experience is back there.
Wondering if anyone can chime in to the related areas of concern above. I realize the E63 will be more comfortable, but no S-class. I appreciate the ability of general performance and exhaust noise, and that's why I would always stick with an AMG. I guess what im asking is: is it way more comfortable that the C, or is it just "a bit" better.
thanks for any insight!

It's way better. Comfort mode will actually jack the car up on the rear air bags, and makes for a nice highway ride due to more suspension travel. Rear seats have a lot more room. I made the upgrade from my C for similar reasons, among others. You don't notice the speed difference quite as much around town, and you will give up that nice 'small car feel' when you are after handling and ease of parking around town.

E63 AMG
I almost went from and E63 to a 507 C63. Glad I didn't. I am used to the comfort and size of the E63. Larger trunk space, easily seats 5 adults. Full back massage. And a true "sleeper."

I appreciate the input, guys. What's road noise like? I realize the exhaust on all AMG's is like a punch in the stomach, and that's all fine, but do you hear less of the 'outside'?

I took delivery of my E on winter tires... More road noise than I wanted on the highway. But I do think it's the tires.
The C has a more thrilling exhaust note... But the E is quieter and has a much better ride... It definitely does the cruising thing a lot better than the C. Comfort mode, tilt the seat back a bit, enjoy the B&O with the massage function on mild...Pretty sweet way to slog thru traffic after a long day at the office
Oh, it'll do 0-100 in 3.6 too.

Of course the rear of an E is more comfortable than a C. Afterall, it's a GT car. The E has also been used extensively as taxi in many countries and thus it was engineered to ensure comfort to the rear passengers.

The Pirelli Sotto's (winter) are definitely louder than the OE Conti's. No question. I noticed it immediately after putting them on.
Another thing for OP to consider... The E63 is rated for about 3-4 mpg better than the C63.

Made the change from 2009 C63 to 2010 E63 and never looked back. My spine thanks me daily.

Having both is probably best of two great worlds
We have both, but the E is my dd. There is no doubt that the C is a much harder riding car than the E. The E is the cruiser and has much more technology than the C (at least the way ours is equipped)
The big negative I will put out there is that I believe the C is better assembled than the E. It feels like it is machined out of one piece of billet, versus the E. The E has far more rattles, buzzes, and just does not seem to be as well screwed together.
We are going to keep the C for a while. If the dealer can't fix all this little stuff it's going to be a one and done for me and a Mercedes. My old 300C SRT had really good performance, no rattles or warranty problems, and cost a helluva lot less. Mercedes has built great cars, but mine is not one of them.

aside from being small, the seats in the C are a total deal breaker. totally uncomfortable, they may look cool but thats it. when you get older looking cool doesnt matter nearly as much as feeling cool

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
My e wagon on bumpy roads is certainly far from comfortable, very firm and rough and I'm talking c mode. I should probably get it checked out, it is still under warrantee, very little difference I can tell between S plus, S and C mode.

2014 Mercedes-Benz E550 4Matic, 2010 Subaru Legacy 3.6R
I've noticed on the 2014 E550 4Matic that there is some body shuddering when going over our rural gravel roads. Quite surprising since the harder riding Subaru Legacy feels more of one piece despite being four model years older.
