2014 E63S impressions - yeah im probably biased

yeah so finally got a chance to test the new one,

Basically i wanted to see if i was to trade in my car for a new one....if its would be worth the extra 30grand or so...

it was black/black and black rims...pretty nice.....usual options but no B and O

anyways exterior...its ok...i still prefer the 2012/13....in the front, i like the angular sharp lines.......i didnt like the silver plastic trim in the front of the 14....looked cheap....the night package may have been better option
In the rear, think they made a mistake removing the rear quarter hip hump...
The rear is pretty nice....seems to hang lower the way they made the rear diff and pipes

Interior....nothing drastic...different clock placement, silver buttons, white stitch, leather on dash and sides....all nice upgrades that my car should have had...but not the reason to upgrade to a new one

the drive == so heres where i really wanted to see if there was a significant difference...with more power and 4wd.
the car felt tighter, and a bit nimbler....brakes were strong, probably because brand new...handling on par with mine...transmission shifts were crisp and clean as they are in mine....didnt really feel the extra weight of the car...Didnt really feel the 4 matic interfere but ofcourse i wasnt trying to drift it either..

i think....for me...the car is not worth the extra money...if i lived in a snowridden area then maybe yes....but i dont...so i will carry on drifting away in the car i have
thank you and goodnight now

I agree with you on majority of points for exterior treatment. I also like the "old" front end. I didn't have a chance to see a new one up close for too long I'm sure it will grow on me.

4matic is a must for me in canada, but if I lived in a snow free area I would probably prefer a RWD car.

I agree with all you said V'dub. I had the same thought about trading my 2012 for a 2014 and then decided not too, I figured with trading in mine at the dealer I'd be into the new one at least 40 grand more, so I bought a 3 year extension of my warrantee and will driving the 2012 for at least another 5 years.

BTW, the Bridgestones I recently put on my Wagon hook up amazing. I can't even get them to spin off the line with the traction control off, could not say that with the old contis. I'm pretty happy with them.

Just had my car at the MB dealer for a oil change today, they recommended a brake flush which I'll do within a month or so, looks to be around 180 bucks, not cheap, but worth it over the long haul.

yes got it used last summer, traded in a 2013 CTS-V Wagon for the 2012 MB Wagon plus 20 grand, really good deal, no regrets. I figure I'll have the dealer do the Brake flush so at least if abs unit goes bad there will be no excuses for not covering it under warrantee.

Would be cool to see stock for stock off the line, and in gear, RWD vs. AWD.

The 4wd just hooks off the line. Incredibly fast through gears 1&2 when in S+ and I haven't even tried race start yet (can't get the car warm enough for it to engage!)

From 4th gear and up it doesnt' feel noticeably faster than my old C63. But my C would have been parked for the last three months due to all the snow and ice, whereas the new AWD car is a true all-weather performance machine... so an extra 1/3 of the year behind the wheel of an AMG and the confidence to drive aggressively in so so conditions is worth the $$ to me.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Yes, I continue to enjoy the pre-facelifted sharp lines, the RWD, and the M156.

I would also love to see a RWD vs. AWD. However, the AWD has been oem tuned to have more power. What I really like to see is an equally tuned RWD vs. AWD.
