Mid Winter Wash/Pics from NAIAS
Hey guys,
Just cleaned up the car since we had a decent day (50 in pittsburgh)! Felt like summer after the past two weeks of negative weather. This car does not like the cold at all, but for what it is, its a winter monster! The sotto's are awesome, and enable this car to gain so much more traction in the wet/snow! Here's a couple of pictures of the show as well, had some awesome stuff there, I was really surprised to see the S Coupe concept there, such a beautiful car! Really liked the new C Class as well!
Enjoy the pictures
had this frozen for the past week! isnt harmful is it??
Was also really surpised to see this beauty there!
Also love the new Z06, really looking forward to driving one!
Sorry for the crapy pics they are off my S3, not sure why they look like this!

I can't speak for Nick, but my 2014 seems like it has molasses in the tranny when it is around 0 degrees. I start the car, wait for the revs to settle down, switch to D or R and wait a full second or two to make it into gear and start moving. You need to do a 3 point turn, hope no one is waiting behind you cause it is going to be a minute. D to R to D takes forever. Big V8 takes forever to warm up. Car usually isn't warm (oil temp to 175) on my 20 minute, 7 mile surface road drive home.
Heated seats don't like it when it is under 40 degrees
My 2 cents driving the beast during polar vortex 2014 ohio.

For the new S-class , some models would have an option of heated windshield.
Not the type we guys have but rather something special but they haven't figured out something
better for the engine eh lol
Even the engine in 04 E55 takes a very long time and tranny sometimes 2 to 3 gear
shift is jerky but that's about it.
To fix the tranny issue I think all they need to do is improve the fluid which works fine under very low
or very high temperatures.
The cars and tech has improved a lot over time but fluids and all have plateaued.
Similar to cell phone - tech has gone up way faster than R&D in battery power/consumption.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
The roundness approach taken by MB is not to my liking.
The Toyota FT-1 concept is really impressive and quite aggressive in a good way IMO.

The motor does take forever to warm up. Must be all the cooling they have in there for the turbos... because my old NA 6.3 warmed up quite quickly by comparison.
