New order placed for 2014 S wagon
Planned production/delivery dates are may 10th/june 26th. Since I will probably go designo leather interior (mystic red instead of light brown on original order) I'm adding 6 weeks to that so by mid august I should drive the new car.
Build will be obsidian black (or palladium)
Mystic red interior
B&O
Carbon brakes
Advanced drivers package
Premium package
Contemplating night package... Otherwise forged wheels.5
By the time car goes "red" the dealer should have info about 2015 model. Not expecting major changes but would like to get passenger multicontour seat if they decide to make it available as a standalone option (have to think about the wife's comfort also!). Otherwise i dont see the advantage of waiting for 2015 as I'm leasing the car...
It's hard to read about all the delivered cars when I should also be driving it... But I'm a patient man
Glad to hear you are going to be getting a wagon after all. I would LOVE to see the red interior with palladium!
Kart, you must love torture given all the waiting you are going to have gone through to get his rare bird

I would have loved a red interior... but the red available on the E is a darker, muddier red... it doesn't pop like the red on the CLS or SLS. You should see one in person before you commit to that, if possible.
It's kinda nice to have to torture myself again about colors/options!! It took me forever to decide for first build, I hope it will be quicker this time!
I agree with you choco about mystic red... I'm kind of unsure but after seing pictures on this thread
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...o-options.html
it made me consider it. It seems that the "tint" on the 2014 is darker and browner on the MB website

I'll go to dealer on my next free time to check samples. If it turns out like on the E550 thread it could be sweet with black or palladium car.
Still considering night package but I find it's incomplete...
I have to settle for colors/options because if earlier PO is posible I want to be ready.
Now if they would have offered alubeam and a BRIGHT red like on the SLS... sign me up!

A quick rolling race had the E63 pulling away. It will be worth the wait again!

I'm calling or emailing the sales rep every 4-5 days to get some "news". If he wants to get rid of me he has no choice but to find and earlier build slot!
Come to think of it, I was supposed to get first 2014 wagon at my dealer... turns out I might get the last!
The night package does not grow on me, as much as I would like to... front end should have been all blacked out, not to mention the window and tailgate trim and roof rails... Only thing I like is the black wheels but we cant get them as a standalone option here in Canada. I will probably go 5 spoke and use the plastidip I bought in november in expectation of the now dead black beast to black out a lot of chrome...
I'm also considering the rear seat Entertainment system. With 3 kids in the back it might be useful. My 6 y/o is using iPad/iPod but my 3 y/o daughter and the soon to be born baby wont for a couple of years. QUESTION to those who have it: does it read Blu-ray discs or just DVDs.
Pretty fun for school runs though. 4th grade girl tells son "that thing sounds evil. I want one". Befuddled soccer milfs have no idea what wagon is. NBA dad does, thumbs up in carpool. Ranchers approve at feed store, move over and wave on 2 laners. Doesn't happen in Fcar.
Glad you're getting car. Bug MB Canada not dealer. Call 800. Salesman not deep swimmer. MB controls allocations. Top down.
This photo shows a pretty good color rendition of a palladium silver wagon with the five-spoke wheels.

Taken in the bright sunlight, this photo shows the car a bit lighter than it looks in person.

I like the way the five-spoke wheels look with the brushed trim.
Our dealer had an E63 sedan with the deep red interior on the floor. The color looked rich but it was VERY conservative. The car was white and the red looked good with the lighter exterior. Just one person's opinion.
This weekend they all used it on the 1.5 hour trip to the coast and back. The doberman was happily aspleep in the way-way back.

Thanks for the real world pictures of your wagon Richard... I really like the way palladium makes the "satin" trim les apparent, almost making me rethink the plastidip project...
I'm trying to get special order on the matte black wheels without having to get night package but looks hard to do from factory...

So here is the 2nd build... quite different looking than the first one but with same options!

Should look good! Let the waiting begin... Again!
If the same time sheet as the first builsd is followed I should have the car by mid August. Build date in system is may 10th. Add 2 months for designo so july 10th (first build got moved back from nov 19th to jan 19th based on designo light Brown inteior choice). 4-6 weeks for delivery and bingo! It will be on same ship as the first 2015s!
I specifically told the salesman that if I call him to change color/options/etc... in the next days/weeks to ignore my call!
We will wait and see what happens with build and if it is not going to be here by july I might go for a 2015... I'm sure that if I decide to keep the 2014 for a later delivery I could massage a 1400$ more in rebate...
It reminds me of the black and gold John Player Special formula cars.
Palladium works well too. - which is my setup. Don't forget the forged wheels.

from what I understand both screens can show different source (DVD and video game) but can they show 2 different movies! My 7 son wont want to watch princess movies! Seems Ipad mounts are the way to go...
