The 2014 Wagon is here!
Hi all,
After a six+ month wait, the wagon is finally in my garage! WOW is an understatement. This thing is so well rounded I can't even describe how it has amazed me in all aspects. Here is the spec sheet:
Diamond White
Titanium 10 Spoke Wheels
Black Nappa Interior
Carbon Fiber Int. Trim
AMG Carbon Ceramic Brakes
Bang & Olafsen Sound
Heated Rear Seats
Rear Side Airbags
Surround View
Driver Assistance Package
Initial Good/Bad:
Good: Just about everything. The engine is an engineering marvel. Fit and Finish is top notch. CCBs are perfect. B&O is very very good. Surround View is a great feature. The SOUND this car makes is intoxicating.
Bad: Speedshift Trans is ok, not great. As many have mentioned on here before it does leave you hanging fairly often even in S+ and even worse with M or paddles selected. But for the one day I have driven with it, it has done fine in regular traffic and wet roads with the crap weather. COMAND interface. This is my first Benz and getting between Blue Tooth Audio (No shortcut button) and Navi, to Settings is proving to be a little cumbersome. I am sure I will get the hang of it with more time behind the wheel.
Delivery was pretty painless, but took a while. Dealer threw in some extra goodies; AMG key fob inserts, All weather mats, iPhone 5 cable and some nice metal key rings. They took care of me with the trade in as well which was nice as they gave me more than they initially quoted.
When I got home I installed the AMG Door pins I had already picked up and the White Star hood badge from DFW dude. The door pins were a cinch, and took maybe 10 minutes. I did not remove the rear door panels. The only thing I am waiting to do right now is Clear Bra/Tint and hardwire my Valentine 1. Also, I have a Smaller than normal license plate and it doesn't fit the rear plate holders dimensions...has anybody with a custom plate found a good work around? I fear there isn't much as the mounting screws for the holder itself are wider than the plate.
Anyway, here are the initial pics, I will get some better ones when the weather is nice and the car is clean.
Rear Plate issue..

Beautiful. I have the same exterior look coming about two weeks away. How are the brakes? Do they make any noise when cold? I came very close to ordering them.

I can, it's pretty straight forward. When I get back home I'll try and put something together. Rear pins you just pull up the stock pin and I super glued on the metal AMG pins as described in an MB bulletin I read. Feel free to PM too if you need more help.

Congrats - what a stunning ride. Based on the number of 2014 E63 wagon owners posting on here I think that that group of owners as a percentage of cars sold must be the most enthusiastic.

My first car was a wagon so I have a special affinity for them. Plus when this thing is so good it's hard to argue against.
Here are the pin numbers:
A000 766 02 28 (front)
A000 766 03 28 (rear)
I paid MSRP on each...$40 per pin. Steep but worth the look over the crap black plastic ones.

Sweet looking color and great options. Even though the big wagon is not for me, I would have spec'd the car pretty much the same way. Enjoy!

Congrats and can I say JELOUSSSSSS! From the first day I saw that announced I was dying to have that. Can't afford an AMG yet but maybe in a few years. Great addition man.
