Couple question on a 14 wagon, hope someone can help
Hi I have taken delivery of the 14 Wagon S AMG yesterday ... couple questions want to ask fellow owners to see if they can try it out.
First in the command , is there a setting that you can set the seat as stated from the manual? Because my old E class has that function,. but just seem weird why this brand new car dosen't have.. or being hidden.
2rd..,. when I lock the car,.. I set it to have audible lock.... but weird thing is the horn... HORN once, like the honda,... in my past cars... it has a distinct beep beep beep from a very different tone or speaker shell I say?.
thanks in advance, hopefully I can don't need to call up the sales guy and ask why my special ordered wagon is missing a S AMG badge and now all these missing features

'14 E63S, '13 G550, '06 E320 cdi, and a bunch of other stuff.
You get a short honk from the horn when the security system is activated. Dealer may be able to program the audible alert to be silent, but you'd have to ask them.
Now go drive your car.

I have a question on the wagon's electric cargo cover. If the cover is in the folded position and you open the trunk, you can pull it out and attach it to the bottom of the track. Then next time you open and close the trunk it'll go up and down. But how are you supposed to go from the open position back to the closed one? Because when the trunk is open it already goes up and you can't unhook it. Am I supposed to do it from the second row seat with the trunk closed and unhook it?

@xxGenericSNxx a gentle upward tug and it will release while extended with the wagon hatch open.
@mtimmy I was also puzzled as to why they removed the beep and replaced it with the horn. My old '09 C63 beeped.

The hatch will also close with out effort (no friction from electric motors) if you want to do it manually.

In some of the older cars,,
like the 11 12 13 S Class or E Class,.
There are actually settings in the Command menu that can turn on the Heated seat, change the back support etc, etc.
.
and on the OLDER cars,. * pre 14 at least * .., the beep when locking and unlocking the car is actually coming out other than the HORN... ... ... but a dedicated siren,. ...

I still dont understand the seat question.
There are hard/fixed controls for each of the eleventy hundred different things one can do to the driver's seat. Who wants to dig into COMAND to find a control for something that has a button one can put their finger on in an instant?

Thanks for answering my trunk cover question.
As for your seat question-- the 14 E does not have any controls for the seat through the command that the GL. ML, and S currently have. Everything is controlled through a dedicated physical button on either the door panel for seat adjustment, or seat cushion for lumbar adjustment. Heated and vented seats are on the switchrow.

I thought the seat question was "how do you save the settings once you have positioned the seat to your liking?" If that is the question you either press "M" and then the number you want to be your seat setting, or you press and hold the number you want to be your setting until it beeps (i get the process mixed up because each of our cars has some variation on this process)
