Suspension,Transmission, and AMG button
I havent had a chance to use the amg button or mess with any of the sports settings, but I was curious if you can switch through all these settings while driving? or do you need to stop to activate the suspension, shift modes, or amg button? Can i do this all while driving?
Thanks for your help

Yes typically I wait until around 10 miles of light crusing until any kind of wot. Not sure if that is overkill. What kind of warm up steps do you take before spirited driving? I know the AMG dash menu shows temps usually the top one reads 215 and the bottom around 201, does that indicate it's fully warmed up?
Thanks

I drive out of the garage in sport or sport plus w traction on sport handling mode.
I switch on the fly. Doing so will not cause a problem.
I did that for 17,000 miles on my 13 and it had zero issues
When car cold in am, of course don't do a sideways 4 wheel drift burnout on ur way out of the driveway.
Keep it simple.

Who knows for sure, but it would be an amazing design flaw if so. Obviously the tranny is completely electronically controlled so it shouldn't be a problem. But if you switch to S or S+ while driving, then depending on speed and RPMs, the tranny might suddenly downshift. Doesn't seem like a big deal though.

I have noticed that if I try to downshift into a gear that is too low for the speed I am traveling it will not shift until the car slows down enough to accept the increased revs. My Lexus LS460 was the same way only it gave an audible beep when I was too fast for the down gear selected.

Does anyone drive routinely in S, or S+ ?
I test drove the car in comfort and it was pretty smooth -- no weird clunks or heavy downshifts like the E550... it was refreshing

Would you prefer a mechanical overrev?

i drive in c if im just tooling around town, theres no point for it to be in s or splus at low speeds
and if im crusing at a steady speed on the freeway theres nothing wrong with c
theres still enormous power and pickup in c
S is probably best for quick response for overtaking and then coming back to cruising because it will shift to 7 quickly after u do what u need to
s plus is u wanna drive hard and aggressive
esp in sport or completely off is what usually do....i think it only makes a difference if u are going hard on turns, otherwise regular driving it doesnt matter

usually keep it in C or S
ALWAYS have eco off- i HATE the start stop thing- gosh puts way too much load on te starter..
as for temp- yea def wait till its warm. I guess changing modes while driving is ok- i prefer to do it while stopped- especially the suspension one.. i have sometimes changed modes while driving but at very low speeds; like in 2nd/3rd gear..
enjoy em safely..

ILL CHange modes if im cruising and foot off gas, so if i was in 7 in s plus and i goto c, it stays in 7 regardless...or vice versa .........

AMG pre-set button will not save "Sport" for ESP/TC setting
I hold down the AMG button for: Manual (transmission), Sport (ESP/TC), and Sport Plus (suspension). Beeps. Everything saves as the new AMG button setting, except the ESP/TC setting always reverts back to Normal. Is this normal?
