Hi all just traded my 997 TT for new e63 s. What a sweet car! I know I am not telling you something you dont already know. Anyone here do DE's with their E63? Cheers!

There's probably nobody on earth who does DEs in a newer E63 -- it's simply not made for it. After many years of HPDE/racing (porsche, audi, bmw) I've seen that when cars go north of around 3,700 lbs, you start having big problems with brakes, tires, tranny, etc. Unfortunately the E63 is like 4,100 to 4,400 lbs. Not gonna cut it. Sure you can do a few hot laps, but if you plan to do a whole weekend, you better budget about $4k for new rotors, pads, and tires per weekend. None of this is exaggeration.

2017 AMG GTS
911 TT is faster no doubt, just two different types of car. But the E63 with little money put into it could probably beat a 911 turbo in a straight line. Id take the AMG all day everyday, a much more exciting car to drive, something about porsche in general just doesnt excite me!
congrats on your E63 please post some pics soon!

I agree with TOE. You might be able to do a few sessions over a weekend, but don't expect to hammer the thing mercilessly without it taking a toll on consumables.
AMGDA runs a few W212 and W218's, but it's not their bread and butter platform.
E63 is a LOT of beef.

Yeah it is to go do hot laps and have fun on occasion not a club racer or anything of that nature. I only have 150 miles on the car so I have not gotten into it. cannot say it is faster than the TT. The e63 is a blast on off ramps at 110mph+ test drive I had the sales guy saying people usually only go fast in a straight line... LOL Holds the road as well as 911 which shocked me.

Enjoy the car! Personally, my p-car isn't getting much use now that we own this beast.
