No clear coat amg black wheel
To my fellow AMG e63 Owners,
Did any one of you come across on someone who has a 10 spoke
black wheel with no clear coat on it.The paint finish has no luster at all.
I already complain several times to the dealership to no avail,by the way
i am here in mississauga, ont Canada.Is it not disgusting to own a high
end benz which has one wheel from the factory that is defective?I was
even accused of painting this wheel.The funny thing is the new and used
car manager wants me to pay $C600.00 towards the cost of a
replacement.I even talk to MB canada and he said it is up to the dealer.
The AMG private lounge even tried to help me.A very bad and sad
experience.Thanks so much for reading this.

I know your point, the reason i said no luster is because the other
the other 3 is very different in texture compared to this one.Sorry maybe
i should have said it was not finish completely compared to the others.

It was May 1 2014 when i had the car,incidentally it was raining really
hard that day and it was really a mistake to pick up a car on this weather.
The next day when i was cleaning it thats when i see this defect.Right
away i called them to let them know.The next week i brought
the car and they said it will be fixed.My car stayed with them for 4 and a
half days.When i pick it up nothing was done except put some wax on it.
I could not believe it.

Up to this point i still do not understand why they would deny any claim
when it is a fault from the factory.My salesman even told me at one time
he sold a brand new car with two different brand of tires front and back.
The authority on this dealership even told me that i can keep the
damaged wheel.What for?Oh by the way what really made me angry was
that the repaired wheel has so much scratches and was worst than before.

When you buy a wheel insurance from the dealer with a new car, the fine print in the policy says that they can repair when possible. For those of us with shiny machined forged wheels, this means a metallic paint on one wheel that upon close inspection, doesnt match the other wheels at all.
Its not uncommon for a wheel to be damaged in transit. The dealership probably looked at replacing the wheel ($1200 and possibly several weeks) and had the wheel repaired instead.
The wheel repair service may have looked at the other wheels while wet and made a poor judgement about what finish they had.
The dealership is naturally trying to cover up that they had to repair your car without telling you. Sadly, not all that uncommon.

the sheen on both pics seems the same (i.e. the luster... like a satin sheen) but the wheel on the left is lighter black than the one on the right.
They need to repaint that wheel for sure .. I would get MBUSA involved

Thanks so much cnolke, PeterUbers,and Vdub. As i said on top it got
worse compared to from before.The car stayed on this dealership for
4 and one half days.Then nothing.Your assumption mr.cnolke is the one
that is closest to what really happened.I will show you guys a plastic
front grill on drivers side that was damaged also.This one was done
already.
