Yeah just received the magazine in the mail today.
This is a great result for the E63 knowing its weight. Though in its category the Z/28 won it.
Lap time wise it did 3'00 which is more than the GTR nismo/C7 stingray/Z28.
Overall not too bad for a grocery getter

Hammering a 4500lb sedan around on the gators might result in some damage... especially on cast wheels.
That's abuse.
Note that it happened in the front. And that the strut came in contact with the wheel. There is very little clearance in there.

One thing I got from the article is that the car appears to need stiffer shocks/springs to reduce the body lean during cornering. I noticed that myself during a test drive going around on ramps at speed.
Anyone upgrade those parts? I don't mean lowering (never doing that because I live in potholed New York City) but rather stiffer shocks/springs like Dinan offers for BMW (single best performance mod I made to my BMW 550xi which really got the body under control in the corners).

Nobody is going 10/10ths on the street. The car's attitude at anything less than that is quite stellar IMO.
I've driven the car at COTA. Very difficult to find fault with the platform. I was not, however, going for FTD. Just circulating at 7-8/10ths. 4500lbs just isn't made for track duty.
Steering feel is nicely balanced between accuracy and comfort. Traction is fantastic. No drama. Power is obviously off the charts. Brakes are marginal. Weight is the enemy.

Buy an E63S for the street.
Buy a different car for the track. For real 11/10ths, go try a season of Chump Car/Le Mons.
Driving a wagon fast on a track is sorta fun, but shutting the door on someone going in to a corner after you went past your braking zone by 30ft is unforgettable.
Leaving in an E63s thats massaging your tired back while you accelerate up an unramp is unforgettable.
I love that the E63s hung with the best, but thats not where it earns its $100k price tag.
