I really am not into the stock 19 spoke titanium colored wheels. They are going in boxes until I sell the car 7-8 years in the future. Will switch back and forth between the HREs and the ADV1s but I think the ADV1s are more my speed for summer and rally wheels. The HRE RS101s are classy and conservatively designed.

I get down to the DC area from time to time. My brother and most of my best friends live there. Might be time for a mini-meet and cruise of some great Virginia roads.

Got massive discount ($24,240 or about 13% under MSRP). Accordingly, I decided to transfer my ADV1 order (ADV005 track spec CS) from the E63 S to the 991 TTS. Wheels had not been machined yet but did incur a change fee because they'd already been engineered for the E63S and had to be reengineered for the 991 TTS. In 991 TTS guise the wheels are 20s just as the stock wheels are. With the car's massive carbon ceramic brakes, 19s are not even possible.
So the HREs will serve as my E63 S's summer wheels with the (to me) homely titanium color stockers serving as winter wheels. The 991 TTS will use its standard wheels (mine came with the 5 lug Turbo wheels and not the center lock TTS wheels) for the winter set and the ADV005 track spec CS wheels will serve as its summer wheels.
Also due to the Porsche I scaled back my E63 S mods a bit. No laser jammers/hidden radar detector. Those will be in the Porsche which I will take on the Goldrush Rally. Also not expel wrapping the whole E63 S -- doing front end, A pillars, mirrors and rockers and wheel arches. The 991 TTS will get a complete xPel wrap. And passing on upgrading the E63S stereo. Gotta pay for a GIAC stage 2 flash and Europipe exhaust for the 991 TTS.

Decided not to get extended limited warranty for the car. Lowest quote I got was $6400 for seven years or 100,000 miles. I am a Geico policy holder and instead will get Geico's excellent mechanical breakdown insurance. Premium is something like $15 or $16 for six months. Scope of coverage is much broader then extended limited warranty. And my service dealership has confirmed that the plan is excellent and that they readily do pay claims and that the coverage is broader than ELW. The policy has a $250 per repair deductible which I am fine with. The plan is also seven years/100,000 miles.
Based upon my research this seems to make a lot more sense then slamming down $6400 for an extended limited warranty whose scope of coverage is narrower than the Geico product.
For my new 911 Turbo S the premium was indeed $16 for six months. You have to purchase the insurance within the first 15,000 miles for 15 months of use whichever comes first.

I'll have to look into liberty to see if they have something similar

Well the car bug bit hard and I ended up getting a second car -- a new 2014 991 TTS that had been sitting in the showroom for months. Colors are Basalt Black metallic exterior paint and two tone black and Carrera Red leather interior.
Got massive discount ($24,240 or about 13% under MSRP).

I was lucky. With the massive discount my 991 TTS ended up being less than the price of an S63 Coupe.

Did you drive other similar cars? What did you think?
