xxGenericSNxx's 2015 E63 Wagon European Delivery/Photo Thread
This is a follow up to my "Order Placed: MY15 E63 Wagon" Thread https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...e63-wagon.html as I've finally taken the first delivery of this car at the MB Factory in Sindelfingen, Germany.
I will use this thread to share my European Delivery/European experience as well as continually update with new photos/photoshoots after the car arrives in the US and as the modifications commence.
As a refresher the car was ordered back in July, 2014 when ordering slots opened. The car went into production in the first decade of September, 2014 and finished production on November 18, 2014. I picked up the car on November 27, 2014 at the Center of Excellence. I dropped the car off on December 5, 2014 and it's currently making its way back to the US on the Firmament Ace ship due to arrive in Long Beach on January 28, 2015. It should arrive in Seattle for its second delivery by March, 2015, I hope!
My specs:
Short version- 2015 E63 AMG S Wagon designo Mystic Brown with designo Mystic Red interior and designo Natural Bamboo trim. Every US available option except the VPC ones (which were wheel locks and chrome door cups).
Long version-
052 designo Mystic Brown
861 Black Nappa Leather**(designo Mystic Red Package- just a formality to have 861)
B07 AMG Carbon Ceramic Braking System
B14 Carbon Fiber Engine Cover
SPC Special Order
W26 designo Natural Bamboo Trim
276 designo Mystic Red Leather Package
298 Rear Side Airbags (SPC)
502 Power Folding Mirror w/ Autodimming Driver & Rear
752 19-inch AMG 10-Spoke Wheels - Black
773 AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber Package
8U1 Factory Code
811 Bang & Olufsen Sound w/red. trunk space
839 Laminated Safety Glass with Acoustic Film
864 Rear-Seat Entertainment System
867 SPLITVIEW (SPC)
872 Heated Rear Seats
995 AMG Surround View Camera Package
997 Driver Assistance Package
First, we are brought into a room where three cars are covered under a sheet. Our host tells us that we must pick the correct car of the three or else he gets to keep it. Luckily for us, only one was shaped as a wagon and the other two were sedans.
Here it is:
Here she is! Fully uncovered. Too bad about the front plate, luckily MBUSA told me VPC will fix it upon its entry into the US.
This was my first time seeing the bamboo trim in person. I was unsure how it'd play with the Mystic Red but I didn't want to play it safe with a black trim and I think they ended up working quite well together. It also goes with the Carbon Ceramic Brake Calipers:
Engine handcrafted by Steffen Widmaier:
designo Mystic Brown has a lot of depth to it. When dark it looks like a dark brown or almost black and when the light hits it, undertones of copper/gold shimmer through:
After drooling over the car we were then fed a three course meal:
MB Silverware of course:
The plates were then installed. These are our European Tourist plates that expire on November 12, 2014.
These were the three cars delivered in this area today: CLS63 in Sintered Bronze Matte, E63 Sedan, and of course my E63 Wagon.
8 delivery miles:

We wrapped the front of the car with XPEL Tracwrap which will protect the car from any potential rock chips on our European journey (although there isn't much to worry about as the roads are so clean and clear over there that you don't hear debris hitting the car). But it's better to be safe than sorry!
And some quick shots in front of the factory before setting off:
The next morning I took it to the MB Museum to take some photos in front of this incredible building.
After my morning photo shoot we headed over to AMG Headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany. This is the facility that produces all AMG engines (except the 4 cylinder "45" engines). I also got to meet my engine builder, Steffen Widmaier, and he signed my hat.
American flag flown for us:
We got to enjoy time at the AMG Private Lounge where we relaxed, had some drinks, and snacks:
I was also able to meet the gentleman who build my engine: Steffen Widmaier. He even signed my hat (along with Michael Kübler). I can't thank the AMG team enough for helping me set this up!

Congratulations! Your excellent photos show off the complexities of the mystic brown beautifully.
The mystic red interior is great too, I also have it in mine (though paired with the satin brown ash) and I love it! I just picked my car up (US delivery though) a couple of weeks ago. It has been exceedingly difficult adhering to the prescribed break in restrictions!

Wow that's great that you were able to get thru the break in period so quickly! Mine was out of service for a few days as I got the front end and the doors wrapped in Xpel Ultimate but i am working on putting some miles on it now!
It is steel gray with night package, sedan. Here's a couple of photos.

Wow! Very cool indeed.
Congrats on a beautiful ride and a great trip.
Just curious, did you have to insure the car before stateside delivery? I wonder what would happen if it got damaged in transit if it is already registered and insured in your name?

Well done and thank you very much for your help in the ordering process especially with respect to the laminated glass.
Best way to take delivery of a car, period. Unforgettable experiences. Enjoy.

Fantastic pictures....I appreciate the thought and care that went into producing those. They help to tell the tale of a once and a lifetime European Delivery experience. Enjoy the car in good health.

Stunning car, stunning pictures, stunning memories for sure! It's nice to see your build in the flesh finally! Congrats!
Now let's hope the boat ride is smoother than the Asian Emperor's at same time last year!

I am sure it is covered by Mercedes somehow until actual US delivery.
Can you imagine getting hit with a total loss (and a freakin depreciation hit) before you even drive it here?!?!
