MB sent me a response to my question. There were 151 wagon built in model year 2012. I doubt I'll be able to learn how many had the P30 package and we're imported into the US. Anyone besides me have a 2012 Cuprite brown AMG wagon with P30?

I've been trying to learn whether my wagon is the one described in the 2012 motor trend article.

I have one of the black 2012 wagons with P30. Not as special as Cuprite brown, but also seems to be pretty rare.

 

I'm wondering the same thing as well. Do you have the VIN# handy? I noticed on press cars there's a line in the spec that states it's a press car. I can check for you.

I reread the motortrend article, I didn't see the vin number listed in the specifications. Do you have a way to learn the vin# of the car in the story? That would certainly answer my question. It would be great if it was the car and i could prove it to other people.

 

I've got a more common silver colored 2012 with the P30, but ya, I'd be interested to know how many had the P30, only 151 made is a lot more rare than I though it was, I guess this one is a keeper.

 

mine is designo mocha black with a msrp of 131,000. The first owner checked all the boxes.

There is one Cuprite brown on this list, and not all cars on the list are assigned a color. I was hopeful to find my car on the list, but the vin # isn't any of the cars listed.

 

According to a Motor Trend article there were 124 2014 E63 wagons imported in North America, and according to my dealer there are 100 listed in the dealer's data for 2015. I don't know if ED cars are included in that number. This might give you an idea of the level of the production. By the way, according to MT, MB loses money on each of these beauties. In any event, we are in a select group!

 

cyclezib - did you pick yours up in AZ? If so I can tell you that it had the same engine builder as the magazine car. I almost bought it but decided to stay away from it because of its early life and it looked like there was a misalignment in the front quarter panel.

 

I love me some wagons/tourings/shooting brakes.

I have been googling E63 for over a year, and I think it was a motor trend article from early 2014 reviewing the 2014 wagon. I have gone back several times to see if there is anything new, up until I got mine, and I know it still comes up. There are only 3 or 4 articles, so one of them should show that statistic. I have been keen to identify the production rate, but have received no response from MB. Just keep checking, going back over several google pages.

 

I still don't think you quite understand what I'm saying. I'm saying for you to send me YOUR VIN#. I will run the VIN on MB's computer systems and it will tell me if YOUR car is a press car or not. If it is a press car, then it was likely used in that article- if it is not a press car then it probably wasn't. The article will not have the VIN#.

Looks nice in Blue. I wish my car were either Blue, Black, or even Red. I'm not really crazy about the Silver, but it was a deal I could not pass up when I bought mine used a couple years ago.
