Cleaning Engine Compartment

There is probably a thread already on this topic so forgive me. I just got my 2011 E63 and the engine compartment is pretty clean, but not brand new clean.
I honestly havent't attempted such a clean in a very long time.
Any advice on effective, YET SAFE, ways to make it sparkle?
Thanks in advance!
If that doesn't work. I would pay for a full Mercedes detail that includes engine reconditioning. Price at my dealer costs $299. I would not recommend trying to detail your engine due to it being a complicated piece of machinery and you might get something wet where it needs to be dry at all times.
It's worth the money to bring your beast to your standards.
Good luck.

I had my E55 detailed by a guy named DJ Mayo, who travels the country detailing Ferraris and other exotics. The difference was amazing. My old car was black, and he measured the paint and took out all of the scratches, then he sealed and protected the paint. It was expensive, but worth every penny. Through him, and reading, I became good at maintaining my car, and the paint.
A real detail by a professional will be more expensive, but be worth it. The guys at the dealer, or some car wash will destroy your car (I have seen the damage many of these guys can do).
Here is a link to the thread on my E55 detail/recondition.

I bought it used, and the damage was already done. I researched a good detailer, and luckily, DJ lived near me.
By the way, I buy all of my stuff from Detailed Image, and they are awesome. I use some of the least expensive products on there, and the results are amazing. They also have detailed write-ups on how to detail, and have a section on engines. http://www.detailedimage.com/Auto-Detailing-Guide/
Good luck, but don't take your car to the dealer!!

Now think about those mom and papa store screw up say your ECU when detailing your car, who you going to call?
Just sayin.
That is no joke.

I wouldn't let some dude at a dealership touch my paint. Those guys have no idea how to remove paint imperfections, they just buff and leave swirls all over.

At least if anything goes wrong mechanically under the hood from their actions they are on the hook.
And I wont have to deal with them effing up my paint with swirls and such.
