2016 or 16?
I am purchasing an E63s and my dealer has two identically optioned cars a 2015 and 2016. The one difference is the 2015 has option 995 (AMG Parking w/cameras). Due to the price increase from 2015 to 2016 the price delta between the two cars is only a few hundred dollars. It seems obvious that I should take the 2016 as it is being offered for the same price but I really like the surround cameras. I lease so the value of the 2015 v 2016 doesn't matter to me.
My question is are there any changes from 15 to 16 aside of the deletion of a color? Am I crazy to go for an "older" model year for the the surround camera option?
One more item, 2015 has been on the dealers lot for 154 days the 2016 is at the VPC and will arrive at the dealer next week.

The Surround View with the Park Assist is a $995 option. The surround view is cool. You are not crazy at all, especially when the residual value will be fixed by the lease.
Ideally, you would take the 15 with a healthy 10% off MRSP discount before any incentives you qualify for such as AMA,ABA,ADA, USAA etc. which is very reasonable and workable discount for the dealer.
They also had a test drive discount of $500 if you did not qualify for the other incentives programs.
That is a reasonable COP to start. and then you want standard money factor and minimum lease initiation fee.
The differences between 15 and 16 are not to be found anywhere besides color choices and the non S AMG being dropped. If there were any other changes, Mercedes did not externally release that. MBUSA states no changes.

Thank you...the base price increased from 2015 to 2016 from $100,600 to $101,700. That's why the 15 with the surround camera option (995) is essentially a wash.

A reasonable discount on the 16 would be 8.5% below MRSP and on the 15 10%. The 15 sould come in about 1.5% further discounted.
Many people on the forum have received this level of discount.

I'm waiting on a 2016 since 3/17 which is currently headed for production the end of this month. I optioned the 995 package, as well.

Have been able to confirm if the 995 package will be available/included in your build? The dealers in my area are providing very different stories as the availability of the surround camera option on 2016 builds.

People on the forums were reporting the Surround view was unavailable for 2016s back when I ordered, both just before I ordered and after. Perhaps that info was related from dealer sales associates
It certainly was available in the DOG (v1.1) when I placed my order in March, the order was accepted and has now moved to B1 status (13 Days Until Production).

2018 GLC 43 & 2014 SLK 350, gone 2016 E63 Wagon
I took delivery of my 2016 E63S wagon just over a week ago and it has the 360 camera option (ordered January and built in March). It's definitely a cool option and one that I would not do without. My GLK only had a rear cameral but the 360 cameral gives you such a great perspective and works flawlessly to this point.
