Tarnished "S" emblem at 6000 miles??

So soon for this? Clearly this will be covered under wah-ruhn-tee

Also...
So I noted that there was an in ordinate amount of tiny chips on the left quarter panel where is the right quarter panel was fine. So I adjusted the left rear door out about two or 3 mm to protect that left quarter panel like the right rear door does right now. If it doesn't work looks like I'm getting some 3M stuff (actually just bought some xpel from Amazon)

Does anyone know how to adjust the gas cover such that I can make it sink in a few mm to be flush with the rear quarter panel?

The S looks like it has wax or soap residue on it..

I buffed it dry... Something is building up underneath the black layer ... Nothing is on the surface

try a micro fiber rag and some spray detailer or windex.

When you mentioned "tarnished" I assumed you were referring to the copper colored tinge of what should look like bright chrome. The white wax residue seemed a bit obvious. Sounds like you solved that. But . . .

Should the chrome on that S look copperish?

That is what I would have been worried about.

Peter. I'm probably the last guy you want to hear from, but please consider clay bar AND wax from a pro. You will not regret it.

we took off the S emblem (literally just pried right off with no residue) because it's attached to the AMG and not the E63 which is kinda messed up... like, what's a SAMG? should be E63S AMG not E63 SAMG... i think the AMG looks better as a standalone without some incredibly cheap little "S" just stuck on there almost like an afterthought

also makes it more of a sleeper from the outside l0lz

I like the S on the facelift models, but would of hate if my E63 with the P30 says something like PE63 or even worst P30E63.

To be even more confusing, Mercedes changed the model designation in 2016 with the DOG to "Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4MATIC Sedan", and E63P or E63SP in Netstar but all the status reports list the model (sedan) as E63W4S.

Personally, I just call it "Das Hammer" and can't wait for the ship to get here next Tuesday and for it to make its way from Baltimore to Upstate NY.

Ok so the self xpel application didn't go great... Bubbles remain

No surprise and I will gladly now pay ztech to apply this film to the rear quarters to prevent future nicks

It was fun trying!
