A little over a week ago I attended slipstream racing's rollout to reach out roll races at Pocono Raceway. The races consist of a 1600 foot roll race down the main straightaway beginning at 60 mph.

I brought both my cars, my 2015 Renntech full tuned and Renntech sport mufflers E63 S and my 2014 GIAC Stage 2 race gas tuned Europipe exhaust/IPD plenum 911 Turbo S using MS109 race gas) and raced them against each other in three straight races.

The E63 S beat the highly tuned Porsche 2 of 3 races. Seriously.

In the first race, when the cars were cool, my 911 killed my E63 S by many car lengths. But then heat soak set in on the Porsche. And my E63 S won the second and third races! I was driving the E63 S in all three races and my Goldrush rally teammate was driving my 991 Turbo S.

The E63 S was car 37 and the 991 TTS was car 38. The ETs and traps for the E63 S are correct. The ETs and first trap for the 991 TTS are correct but its second and third trap speeds are not correct (Slipstream has problems with its timing system at the meet).

My E63 S beat every BMW M car it faced and it faced many. One super heavy modded M5 with water/meth injection, catless downpipes, intake and tune pulled harder but he was DQed for a start speed of faster than 70 mph. My E63 S only has a tune and mufflers.

Given that you are in SoCal, go to ShiftSector's or Omega Motorsports' No Fly Zone events. They tend to do them on long airport runways.

Any time. People in the west are so lucky because you have a bunch of runways that will open up for half mile runway events. Nothing like that in the Northeast right now.

question, does your ECU tune have better throttle responds or lag on takeoff?

No effect one way or the other.

Hum. I wonder if has to do with an AWD vs RWD? I have notice since I got my tune, my takeoff are day and night. Before the tune, I would be at a light and once it turned green and I step on it hard and it was like a 1 second delay before it shoots off. Now, once I step on it off the line, it takes off instantly and I think that is one of my advantages street race off the line.

Interesting. I still feel some delay although when power is on it is a lot stronger

I will be participating in a private drag race day at Atco on Oct 7. The theme is the top Euro super sedans. We will have E63 S's tuned by Renntech and AMS, 2 CLS63s with the Full Weistec mods including turbo upgrade and ice trunk tank -- one AWD and one RWD. We will have M5s including a water meth injected F10 M5. We will have at least two APR tuned RS7s including the fastest one in the U.S.

Thanks. Should be an epic event of timed M5 vs E63 S vs RS7 battles. Everyone tuned and many with much more. Most drivers experienced with drag racing. There will be a few other cars there too like my 991 TTS.

How many hp is your kleemann tuned E63S ?

Mine has a Renntech full tune and Renntech sport muffler. Renntech claim 716 bhp and 859 lbs ft at the crank. Based on her very strong performance at Slipstream The rating seems spot on

Nope. Just tune and a sport mufflers. Stock DPs and turbo pipes. Stock cats. Stock intake. Stock turbos.

At what point would you recommend upgrading and beefing up the mct trans?

When I met with Renntech to discuss mods, they only recommended the MCT upgrade if one gets the turbo upgrade. Same with the cooling upgrade -- not necessary unless you get the turbo upgrade. The Renntech MCT and cooling mods are really nice but do not appear necessary unless you are getting the upgraded turbos.

A few weeks ago, I was asking Renntech and forum member about a turbo upgrade and Renntech told me my transmission was design to hold up to I think like 750hp, but anything over that an upgrade was necessary. Spark plug however was recommended with the ECU tune and after reading the thread about mis fire. I think I'm going to get the spark plug upgrade. My train of though is spark plug upgrade would not hurt if anything.

If Renntech told you the MCT was designed to handle up to 750 bhp the that would square with the need to get an MCT upgrade with a turbo upgrade but not with just bolt on mods. If you do full tune, sport mufflers and catless or vetted DPs from Renntech you are at 726
Bhp. 736 bhp if you drop the $5k for their intake.

With respect to the spark plugs if you get the tune you're supposed to change them between every 10,000 and 15,000 miles to prevent misfiring as the tune places them under greater load. I changed my first set at 9500 miles prophylactically before a roll race event but they had shown absolutely wear according to the dealer's AMG service tech and could have probably made it to 15k. As I recall Renntech found that upgraded spark plugs were not better than the OEM ones
