I had contemplated for a while because the engin needed to come out, but finally pull the trigger. Now or never, but my E63 is now fully awake and responds on the tap is way better than just the ECU tune and catted downpipes.
Awesome - have you dyno'ed your car? I am curious as to the output.
I don't know the labor charge on just the turbo upgrade alone. I got the Alpha 9 as a package with installation for a little more than $14,000. I'm sure the guys knew what they where doing since they had my car for a while. I'm also confident AMS would not let anybody sell and install their product without certify them one way or another, would you agree? The car pulls like a rocket. 911 Turbo has no chance. Once I decide on getting new wheels and then lower the E63, I'll have it dyno along with the S65.

thats a pretty good price installed
i got quoted about $20K for renntech's stage 1 turbo upgrade.... still on the fence but i know i will do a turbo upgrade at some point
want to test it out on my e63 4matic first and then in a year or 2 when i get a s63 4matic coupe (once prices come down a little) i will be confident in slapping a turbo upgrade on it as well
want to make sure i wont grenade the 4matic transfer case on a s63

Thanks. With very comparable hp/tq between Renntech and AMS and the saving of about $4,500. You can even add an upgrade cooler pump. Just saying.
My S65 is staying stock for business and family comfort purposes. Good luck.

With the package listed as $12,000, I guess that means the labor probably wouldn't be more than $2000. That total price installed certainly sounds like a good deal compared to others.
There was a concern about turbo cars in general since the cost to replace the turbos due to having the engine pulled might be prohibitive. Now with nearly all cars on the road being turbocharged to meet the upcoming regulations, such replacement should be easier and shouldn't cost too much or else any consumer will brick a car once the turbos fail due to the replacement labor cost.

You sure you don't want to be the guinea pig so everyone else can learn from the mistake?!

lol nah, not on a 180K+ s63
though i was at renntech yesterday and they did have a s63 4matic in there that was getting the level 2 turbo kit and other's are running them so not too worried.... I just want to give it a few years and see if any problems arise if i were to do it on an s63 since its so much more expensive than and e63
but for my e63 i have no problem putting the kit on my car so probably will pull the trigger in a few months as buying a house at the moment

Wish the interior on the E63 looked like this.
I looked at an S63 Sedan last week when I was at the dealership with my wife's car. Unbelievable interior. I want one. Lol. I had to get outta there because I was starting to think of ways to make it happen.
David when you get a chance let's see pics of that engine bay!
What's your fuel economy with those turbos?
Hey Peter. Can you post a photo or two of your engin bay that shows the OEM turbos. I can't find a photo to shot of the AMS turbos.
Fuel economy, I can't say by numbers. Before turn I was getting about 280 miles a tank, now get about 260 a tank. This is more than half on local driving.
who locally did your install or was the car shipped to illinois
No, I sent my car to Germany to have everything done. Can you ask some real questions people can relate to? You do know why turners have distributors right? These distributors are also charge with fright charges when sell these parts from the tuners.

I got my Alpha 9 package a little cheaper than the MSRP so labor is more than $2000. Just can break down as to how much I was the removal and install of the new turbos.

Different feeling man. The S65 was built more for Comfort than speed. Has anyone raced a S63 or S65 care to share the experience?

Excellent point David they are hard to see... Is this it??
