My Renntech Tuned E63 S vs Lots of Other Cars in Roll Races
On Sunday, January 20th, my E63 S with Renntech full tune and Renntech sport mufflers (stock cats and stock downpipes and stock turbos) competed in roll races at Race Warz 2 at Pocono International Speedway. All of the roll races in the videos below had a 60 mph start.
Overall, I was happy with the results. It was faster than tune only cars but not as fast as cars with catless downpipes or water meth injection.
The wins:
1. Dodge Charger Hellcat. Lost badly to my car (4 car lengths):
8. and 9. Other wins not videoed: 997 Turbo S (from a roll) and Lexus RC F (from a dig)
Losses:
1. 800 bhp water-meth injection, catless downpipes, custom tune, aftermarket intake F10 M5 (23 lbs of boost) (fastest F10 M5 in the New York area) (many many car lengths):
I give you so much credit and appreciation for actually documenting all of your tuning saga and also backing all of that up with objective video evidence of everything your car has accomplished on the track, a fully sanctioned and much safer environment then on the street.
Thank you for these awesome videos and this is truly a testament to renntech and their awesome tune
You've got one hell of a beast there in that lunar blue E63!!
'03 E55, Range Rover Sport Supercharged, Ducati 748R
So besides the insane M5, it sounds like the other Renn E63 was your biggest loss. What's the difference in your tune and their VIP tune (I can't imagine just a catlesss difference giving a 5-6 car length advantage!).

Totally agreed... 5-6 car lengths means like 50-100 extra wheel horsepower

Thanks! I do the same over on 6speed and Rennlist with my 991 Turbo S. Cars are my passion I guess.
I am extremely satisfied at the power for what is essentially a tune only car.

I go back-and-forth about whether I want the catless down pipes and a custom tune or not. Not sure I want so much extra noise. My car is already loud in the cabin as is. If I did I would ship my car down to Renntech in Stuart, FL and have them custom tune it on their Dyno with the new mods as I just did with Champion Motorsports with my 991 Turbo S.

I was astonished at how much faster the car was than mine with just the custom tune and no cats. Makes me wonder if the car had turbos or water meth. People don't always disclose their mods.
The loss to the JB4 catless DP 21 pounds of boost M6 was a disappointment. Thought it would be closer.

I follow your posts on Rennlist & 6speed as I'm in the market for a 991 TTs...very fruitful reading thank-you
that wasn't your TT you raced in the video was it ?

Thanks. No that race you saw was against a Cobb stage 2 tuned 911 Turbo S with Klein 100 cell catted exhaust.
My RedGutz GIAC Stage 2 991Turbo S (when it had stock intercoolers and Europipe exhaust with 100 cell cats) raced my E63 at slipstream's roll race event in July on the same track - Pocono International Speedway and crushed it even more than the Cobb Stage 2 991 TTS.
This actually demonstrates to me that the GIAC stage 2 car is making more power than the Cobb stage 2 car as my E63 did not change mods. In fact in the race against the Cobb tuned 991 TTS I was carrying my son who weighs 150 pounds. In the race against my GIAC car I was alone in the E63 and yet my GIAC car pulled harder against it than the Cobb car.
In both races I was driving the E63 and driving as hard as it would go.
SOOO BADASS!! i need to do this with my Weistec E63!!
Come to our private track day at Atco on Oct 7th. We will be having 2 Weistec full turbo upgrade CLS63s, my E63 S with Renntech mods and an AMS tuned E63 S among many others. Tons of tuned Porsche 991s.
We are expecting the first drag
Race battle in the country of a cobb stage 3 Turbo S with upgraded ByDesign intercoolers against A GIAC stage 2 991 Turbo S with upgraded Champion Motorsports intercoolers (my car). Both cars will be catless
Just curious, what gear were you in at the start of the 60mph races, and over what distance were these runs?
Thanks. For fastest performance I'm in sport plus and right before I hit the starting line I downshift into third. Race is 1500 feet down the straightaway.
To all my good friends with the Cobb tune. This is what coming for you on October 7 LOL
RedGutz (M Slayer's little brother) kills a full bolt on 600 wheel horsepower GTR from a 45 mph roll three times in a row. My answer to some of these rather surprising Dyno runs which clam that the GIAC tune makes crap power.
Thanks. With a tune and mufflers I know I'm not going to be everyone at the roll races (And certainly not an 800 hp full bolt on meth injected M5). But I beat pretty much everyone else who only has a tune and mufflers LOL
If you have a full bolt on GTR it looks like you need E85 to beat my Porsche 991 TTS.
