I'm excited, have an appointment with AMS in West Chicago

Picked up a '14 E63 last week and am excited because I'm having it dropped off to AMS in west Chicago for their ECU swap and tune and I'm also getting the larger, more efficient cooler installed. At least I'll have a couple weeks of hurting people's feelings on the road before she gets mothballed for the winter.
Anyone else do this to theirs? AMS seems like they're a top flight operation.

Congrat. I just had my 2012 RWD E63 tuned with the AMS Alpha 9 package with Renntech 200 cell cat down pipes a couple of months ago. You will enjoy the ECU tune. AMS started with Nissan GTR and 350/370Zs and is a top contender in the turbo cars industry. If you do searches on YouTube, they did a fantastic job tuning our sleepers into a monster.

Not much cars on the streets can touch you.

Enjoy.

Always a pleasure to help out a forum member. If this helps, I started off with the Renntech ECU tune with their DP, but make the switch with the full AMS Alpha 9 packages. Don't get me wrong, I do like the Renntech ECU tune, but after carefully studying the AMS package and what they have done, I made the switch.

I do want to remind you though, do not get the ECU tune without swapping the OEM spark pugs with some cooler spark pugs. I swap my plugs when I did the Renntech tune. If you read up on this forum, many had misfired plugs with a tune and OEM plugs that you don't want to take a chance with ( or at lease that is my train of thought even though I never had a misfire ).

Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks David,

I spoke with AMS who said they've had the best luck using the OEM plugs on their R&D vehicles as well as their customer's rides.

No problem.

Good luck on the tune as I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with it.
