2013 or 2014 E63?
Trying to decide between 2013 and 2014 model years.
Definitely like the looks of 2013 better, but slightly newer electronics and AWD in 2014 makes me think twice.
There is almost no price difference between the two and, for some reason, a lot better selection of 2014's.
What do you guys think? Which one would you go with given the choice?
Thank you!!!

I took the '14 for the 4matic, but since you're in LA, you likely don't care much about that. I didn't want this much horsepower and rear wheel drive because of winter driving in Canada.

+1. If OP is in SoCal, I would get the preface 2013 with LSD. I have both the AWD ( S65 ) and RWD ( E63 ) and definitely think it's a funner driving experience with the RWD with LSD.

anything over 500 whp on rwd and you start to have to run R-compound or drag radials to put all the power down...
go for AWD
go for AWD

please post a ~1.7 sec 0-60ft time slip on street tires on rwd e55/ e63
very hard w/o drag radials on rwd.... LSD helps but drag radials are where its at on 500whp+ RWD cars.... and when it rains... lmao, good luck
rolling on the highway and flooring it is ok, but stop light to stoplight type runs, leaves you spinning tires on street tires.
there is a reason why GTR's and LAmbos all run AWD now, and its not to make the cars "boring" as many people like to type-cast AWD
simple physics dictates that AWD has more traction.... main reason you dont see too many RWD rock climbing trucks

I think it depends on your driving preference. I have a rwd and a awd and the handling experience is very different. The awd is drama free and deceptively fast, but the red feels much more lively in the corners and more explosive when you nail the throttle (even though I know it's not quicker).
Styling is subjective and I actually like both.

Understandable, but for the HP/TQ I put out and the LSD just serviced. I couldn't be more happier.
SoCal does get rained allot for the pass month, but how often does that happen ? please keep in mind we need water.

I think you and I are the only members on this thread that likes the preface E63 and RWD, but honestly. RWD is perfect for SoCal weathers. You can burn tires at will and once the LSD kicks in, untouchable.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I agree about the rwd of course I'm partial because I have one and never driven (well at least hard) the awd version. At least stock with the Bridgestone tires my car has no problem at all getting off the line. I see no need to have the awd at least here in Florida.

I like both but see the benefits of AWD when i had my Audi, but love the idea of roasting the tires pitching the car sideways - (that never gets old) - it will come down to preference.
Personally i'd probably get the 14 as i like the front end a bit more -
If the 13 was a few a considerable price dif then I'd probably go with the 13 as we all know depreciation is the fastest thing on AMG cars.
You can't go wrong - is it a sedan or wagon?
I'm Nor CA too - grew up in Newark - now live in SJ - right in the middle of the tech world - ugh!!!!!

I will be honest I feel the 2014s and up make more power stock and respond better to tunes than the preface. No scientific evidence to back my claims though
