Wish me luck guys. Hopefully this will fix it. Going to tackle the job Saturday. Paying a friend to use his lift and tools. I'm feeling more and more as if this is the problem, being that it's so damn sporadic. I feel if the alternator was on its way out, it would be weakly charging it, or not at all. Rather than going from WAY too much charging, to none,then back to perfectly normal. Plus with the car having 105k miles, the voltage regulator could very well be worn down

I don't think 105k miles means that things are suppose to wear out. My Genesis V8 has 177k miles and nothing electrical has failed. Also my 2005 Mercedes E500 has 152k miles and no electrical failures. I did get a new battery a couple of months ago for the Genesis but it still was fine, just did a proactive replacement since it was 5 years old. Good luck with your repair.

I feel the same but have heard that this is a part that wears out. I agree though, I had a silverado with 240k that I put almost 60,000 on, and my Denali had 200,000 when I sold it, 70,000 of those from me with no electtrical issues

Trucks are built like tanks and Hyundai have 10 year warranty for a reason. I love this car, but there are lots of glitches.

I hope this is the right part... I mean SURELY it is, Mercedes matched it with my vin. It just looks different than the ones I see in pictures.
