Eventually someone- maybe MKB/Renntech or Brabus- will grease the right palm at Bosch (who also happens to sell tuning tools, LOL!) and they'll get in. The information will spread quickly from there.
Even with that, though, there will be limitations hardwired into the firmware, and it won't be as good as a standalone that offers full control and allows the programmer to determine what those limits should and will be. So why take that intermediate step at all?

Nah. The fast guys- AMS, Switzer, T1, Ekanoo ... all on standalones. That's the only way forward.

Hmmm. I could see that logic. What I'll say is this: when the NA 63 cars came out, the thinking at RT (I was working there) and MKB (we were close with them) was that NA was the way everything was going and the 55K cars were dead. Development almost totally stopped, even with the SLR.

The everyday daily driven street cars typically stay on factory ecu. I guess we will wait to see what you guys come up with.

Right, the top of the top. Those are the 2000+ horsepower cars (top 1%). We're not anywhere close to that... We're having trouble using the power we have already in the car.

How much can these transmissions take that by lessening the restrictions MB put on you wouldn't basically be accelerating the death of your transmission? I'm just curious. It sucks having these limits on, but, assuming you don't go built transmission, how much can the stocker take before grenading without these limitations?
Would you offer the standalone for the M278 driven vehicles as well?

As for transmissions grenading, it definitely can happen, even with the stock limiters in place.

We've done both- the billet wheel upgrades (which are these, you get back a fully rebuilt and rebalanced turbo) and the GT28 swap (again, custom housings) but without the ability to control the TCU, there is no real-world gain in the GT28s. Heck of a dyno queen, though!
As for the standalone ECU/TCU, my feeling is that 6 months is about right. We'll have a solution this winter, at any rate. If you were a local guy and could live as a beta tester for a few months, it might accelerate that timeline- but, as you say, you have your toy. This is more of a daily.
So ... you tell me? Want to be on the bleeding edge of E63 go-fast?

I'm serious we all know there is no real TCU tune from them. (https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/700961-anyone-renntech-tcu-tune.html). We need to find someone who can really break the encryption and give us a full performance TCU tune with proof please. why is there no solution it's been long enough and why there is not a bunch of people asking for this?

I guess you're right, we need more voices we need more people to ask for a Performance TCU tune to get the tuners interested. the e63 with this issues is been out since 2012 that I know so hopefully more people show interest.

you can send your tcu to GAD.... no doubt they rule the show here

lol, how would I do that the TCU processor is inside the transmission in between layers of silicon. I w ou uld have to send the Transmission to them and as far as I know even GAD doesn't have a Performance TCU tune yet.

why not just get a used 'vette or 'stang and make it your 1/4 mile wet dream? It'll cost you like $20,000; you'll lose less sleep

I'm not rich I'm just a guy with a dream. Besides I like this car, I just want to see what this beast can do with a good TCU tune that's it.
