GAD vs Weistec vs AMS vs PP performance vs Renntech turbo upgrade?
I am a long time absent from the forum
And now I've come back and I want to show the good number with my E63s project.
my car is still stoke and i saw a couple of good companies making the turbo upgrade for the M157 Engine.
But i would like to know what is the best company for the reliable and power
my target is 800 AWHP
i'm thinking to do this for now
- Weistec Downpipes
- Weistec Cooling kit
- BMC Air Filters
- Custom Ported throttle body
- Aquamest meth injection
- PP performance Ecu Remap
- Turbo Upgrade !!!!!!
If there a better setup please let me know
Thank you

Good luck with torque limiter if your car is 4-matic
Ferris, I was curious what the issue was with the torque limiter? Is there a software control for this, or is it purely mechanical? I'm looking to do the trans upgrade at the same time.
Thanks!
Nowadays, every tuner offers more or less the same gains.

1: AMS claimed a higher HP/TQ gain with just a ECU tune over Renntech ( didn't want to consider other tuners ).
2: AMS has a way longer track record playing with turbo upgrades from all turbo cars including the GTRs. Renntech was always the ECU tuner and just got into turbo upgrades which was a concern of my.
3: I drove my friend's Alpha 12 GTR and that got me sold on going with a full E63 Alpha package.

I think if people are just looking for a ECU tune and downpipes, the top 3 tuners offer comparedable tunes. If turbo upgrade is considered, my money went to AMS and am very happy with it. Very reliable upgrade without so much a code, misfire or lag.

I am not interested in a turbo upgrade (gaspam), but what Speedriven commented in another thread is right, not worth turboback downpipe upgrade (labor) if you are keeping stock turbos (labor issues). If I were to move to a AWD E63 and wanted downpipes, a turbo upgrade might just be worth the extra. However nothing out there seems to be making any power except full custom motor builds and a RennTech shop car
just because people dont track there cars, doesnt mean it doesnt make power... i know plenty of guys with 1000+whp cars (not mb) that have never tracked them, but still stomp everything they come across on the street (where i care most if my car is fast)

once these cars are around $25K you will see more of the e55/w204 c63 crowd migrate over and start swapping turbos and doing bigger builds
i bought my car for cruising the street in style, class and luxury comfort and made it faster so that 99% of the people that try to block me from passing, cut me off, or mess with me, cant
its a daily chore in miami, its like being in the road warrior movies lol
