Removing Rear Door Pins (locks) on a '16 E63
Hi,
I just bought some door pins from JB Speed and I was able to easily replace the front ones by twisting them off with pliers.
However, for the rear, I have been told 3 conflicting ways to replace them:
Does anyone know FOR SURE how to remove the rear door pins on a 2016 E63 wagon?
Thanks!

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
On my 14, I rolled window all the way down and used pliers and pulled straight up
Easy
Apply loctite to new pins and insert... No need to remove panel

I bought the ones from JB as well - I think if they are not the shorter ones but the same in length they won't work. I need to buy another set which had two that thread on and two that are shorter and pop on. The rear's pop off by pulling upward.

Can you please clarify what you mean by "shorter ones"? All 4 pins that I received from JB Speed are the same length as each other, but they are all shorter than the OEM pins. I also think they are all threaded.

The front screw on ones are shorter in length than the rear push on ones

Like "crazy1eye" said above ^ 2 should be threaded and 2 hollow looking which snap on to the rear posts. You'll see when you remove the rear (pull straight off) that the JBSpeed threaded ones won't even go on - wrong ones.

The AMG models should come standard with the upgraded door pins. The plastic ones that come with this car just look so cheap and out of place.

I just hate that United States versions of the E class including the E 63 will not allow you to toggle the door handle to unlock the rear doors. You physically have to lift up on the door pin but once you install these aftermarket door pins you are not able to grasp them to lift up on them.
This could be a safety issue if you have passengers in the rear
