Tire replacement question
Have 5000 miles on them. Great ride and showing very little wear. Have on w222 s 550.Would recommend them to anyone.
Problem is, the 285 width tire isn't XL, and the 295 has a mini in recommended wheel width of 10" a so neither works ideally on stock wheels.
I bought 10" aftermarket summers so that I could go with the PSS as my next tire.
The PZero is a fine tire. If I were in your situation, I would go with another set based on the numerous reviews I have read.

My 2009 C63 AMG set lasted only 4000 miles.
My 2007 E63 AMG set lasted only 6800 miles.
By contrast, replacements in the past, such as Yokohamas, have lasted 18-20k.
I am leaning toward the ExtremeContact DWS at this point.

I'm referring to Conti DW, as in Dry Wet, which would be the better choice amongst Conti's, not DWS or DWS 06, as in Dry Wet Snow, 3 different tires

My E55 (530+whp)
3 sets of Continental Sport Contact DWS's
Average Mileage of 12k on rear 20k+ on front
Good Grip - Longer lasting - Price is relatively cheap
My C63 (480+whp)
1 Set of Pirelli PZeros
5k miles max on rear front 11k or so pushing it.
Decent Grip - Shortest life - Came with the car
1 Set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports (1 roll race event 7+ passes 1 day at 1/4 7+ passes)
MAYBE 7k on rears just over 9k on fronts
Excellent Grip - Slightly better life than Pirelli - Expensive...
2 Sets of Continental Sport Contact DW
Lasted 11k on rear 15k on front (bad alignment from coilover change)
Great Grip - Long life - Great Price
My E63 (600 whp)
1 Set of Continental Sport Contact 5p's
Excellent Grip (comparable to PSS) - Only had for 250 miles - $75 cheaper per tire than PSS
So far the 5p's have held traction better than the DW's that originally came on my car. I only had 1500 miles of non-tuned driving so I definitely put the DW's through their paces.
What I did not like about them was how fast the center threads would wear compared to shoulder. Sidewalls were soft so running them in the low 30s psi suck. However running either in the high 30s psi resulted in accelerated center tire wear.
On the DW, with the center worn down, it was still manageable to drive in the rain, hot or cold, till the most of the tire was worn down.
On the DWS, with the center worn, driving in the rain always felt like the rear of the car was about to let go and do a 180 degree spin. The DWS lasted a few thousand miles more than the DW but felt worse than it about 8 to 10k miles into its life especially in wet weather.
I also had the same feeling with the Michelin AS3 as I did with the DWS. To me they performed similarly as the DWS (minus the snow part since well I'm in TX), but did not last as long as the DWS. I would give overall grip as so DW>AS3>DWS on dry roads. Wear would be DWS>AS3=DW with the DW feeling the most secure in the rain when worn over the other 2
