The cls63S is truly a unicorn ... I've maybe seen one?

Actually that's not so easy these days either, IMHO BMW really milquetoasted the styling on their current generation of sedans. I owned a 2005-era 5-series and loved the unique and aggressive look of the E60.

Also the E is more practical for a DD

Also I would've wanted a tenorite grey CLS63S and seems like the only one in that colour was bought by another member on a different forum I'm on so I settled for the E.
Even in the E class the E63S there's very few with any options so no point in spending £50k - £60k unless it's fully loaded.

I didn't realize the CLS was 4" longer. I don't understand why they need to make the coupe versions larger exterior dimensionally ...yet compromise interior space...and make them weigh as much or more than the sedan versions with the same powertrain. That isn't just a critique of MB, BMW does it with the Gran Coupe and even the X6. They weigh more than the 5 series/X5 yet have more cramped interiors.

Looks and the five seats in the E class. Drove them both, appreciated them both, but kept going back to the E63. I have two car seats in my ride most of the time, making the middle seat unusable, so probably wouldn't use that as criteria next time.
If I had to make this choice again, I'd go E63 for round 2. Will be interesting to see what the next iterations of the four door coupes look like. New Panamera looks stunning.

Obviously looks are subjective but line up a CLS63 next to an E63 and 8 out of 10 pedestrians will tell you the CLS is the appearance winner. That being said, the E63 is the overall champ. I actually enjoyed my previous E55 much more than the W218 CLS.

Face lifted CLS...nuff said
sit in one at night turn it on and see the magic light show in front of the car
It might also sound better, as exhaust parts are not the same. If history is to repeat itself, the previous gen cls55 sounded way better then the E55k. True story

2016 E63 Wagon
I NEVER get looks for my wagon unless it's car guys asking "is that an AMG WAGON?"

It's getting to the point where the only way to distinguish the new C-, E-, and S-class models from each other is to bust out the tape measure. I'm also disliking the dilution of the AMG brand, but that's another forum topic.

The first four photos are different AMG models. The last two are non AMG cars. Good luck telling what Mercedes is coming at you.

while I agree the current C, E and S look way too much alike, The CLS is the one true car that sticks out as different REAR and front. These cars run Day light mode and there is a big difference in the previous day light setup. Newer models is a different story

I actually went to the dealer to buy a cls 63 that was advertised with only 1100 miles. Then I saw they had my E63 with a bit more miles (1,800) and Renntech tuning and headers. It took me about 10 minutes to go with the E even though I paid more for it: aside from the rear seat space, it looks more stealthy and undertstated, and more butch at the same time.
As I was considering the two the salesman suggested the cls was more of an old man's car...maybe I am getting old but I think it looks pretty good too.

I also wanted command 4.5 which I think was offered in the face lifted model but didn't like the tablet looking screen. Not sure when LED lighting was introduced but that was a preference as well.
