2014 E63S Muffler Delete

2014 E63S Muffler Delete
Yes i've tried the search button and no not all my questions where answered even through reading countless threads in regards to this topic. Figured since time has passed more knowledgable individuals can chime in from either experience or had a friend that either loved it or hated it. Anyways,
2014 E63s, stock with only the resonators removed/replaced with an Xpipe. Very minimal change since the changeover. Was going to order the Rentech sport mufflers in the spring but from reading of how these mufflers where installed I came to realize that the OEM mufflers where going to get chopped off anyways to weld these bad boys on. Since their getting chopped, I started to dig deeper into a muffler delete.
I want to state that I'm doing this just for the sake of sound. Even if I was to spend the 7-10k USD on a complete setup the gains from this are minimal at best. I'd rather put that money down into another ride anyways.
So my question is:
1) I doubt a muffler delete will throw any codes but figured I'd ask anyways
2) Drone: How would you rate it out of 10? (Ex: My 2014 Raptor with a complete Roush set up has drone. I'd say thats an easy 8/10 from any rev range lol while my 2014 Jeep SRT with a resonator delete/ replaced with a straight pipe is 1/10. I can obviously live with drone but I'm curious as to how "bad" it really is. Lets be honest, owners with an AMG range from 18-100
3) Will I hinder the performance of the car in any way?
Questions 1&3 are the most important to me as I can't stand to drive a vehicle with a light on and I didn't buy an AMG just to make it slower. I welcome all inputs as well. Look forward to hearing from you all.

you could put flanges on the muffler and the exhaust if you dont like it you can always remove 4 bolts and go back to original set up and have a custom straight pipe too?
A lot of people keep the mufflers on and just remove all the resonators that makes a difference.

Yea i've seen his videos on youtube. Im thinking of going this route, for what its worth its a cheap mod that should give me what I'm looking for. Anyone know if @tta850 is still an active user? Says its been a year since he's been online.

So just did the muffler delete on my 2016 and I love it. Drone I would consider to be a 2/10 when on throttle on the highway at 70mph. Still have the resonators in though so not sure how much that would change. Well worth the money, car sounds like a muscle car now

Thanks for the input but can you offer some clarity? You say you did the muffler (singular) delete and still have the "resonators in" (plural). Since there are two mufflers and only one resonator I'm a bit confused as to what you actually did. Sorry if I'm reading your post wrong...

Valves open on my exhaust is close to what a full muffler delete would be. Resonators gone and replaced with straights. I absolutely love the sound, but you're going to be in many situations where you'll wish you could dial it down. That's why I always suggest an exhaust with valve controls and not a simple delete. But yes, that will cost you.

The Renntech sport mufflers are slip on, not welded on and I love them,. They allow for a great sound, like a muscle car, but not too much where it is unbearable driving on highways for long distance. No drone with them either. Yes, they are pricey, but I think that having nothing back there would be too much noise and get old quick. I'll be selling mine for probably half price(maybe less because they'll just sit) in 2 or 3 months when I decide on a AMG GTS or a Porsche GT3,, if you want them and can wait that long.

Damnit @izzy63! Got taken right under me in my own thread lol @RobbieRob If izzy decides for whatever reason that he won't take the Renntech mufflers from you give me a shout. As for the GTS vs GT3, id pick the GT3 any day of the week.
@pghc63 apart from the minimal drone has either a CEL come on and/or noticed any power loss in the car?

Also I agree on the GTS vs GT3. I own a GT3 and have driven the GTS many times and the GT3 is in a league of its own. Just get a sharkwerks exhaust and enjoy that 9k rpm. Currently trying to pick up a GT3RS

No CEL or any power loss, just an awesome sound that gets many compliments.

That's good to hear, I was thinking GTS because it seems more practical. I wouldn't mind valet driving it to park it in the city, but I think I would worry more about the GT3. How is the GT3 around town driving? OP, sorry to hijack the thread.

GTS is definitely more practical. No way around that one. However the GT3 is such a better drivers car and not to mention the fact that the GT3 holds value extremely better is a no brainer. GT3 around town isn't as good as the GTS but is definitely doable. Not the best car for that application though. Shoot me a PM if you want to discuss more. Don't want to hijack the thread

LMAO, I'm sorry again. I put my pants on just like you and worry about food and bills, I'm just 43 and single without any kids, that's the only way I can afford a little bit nicer of a car than my E63s, kids are expensive. I in no way was bragging about those cars, sorry if it came across like that.

Well, I found a 16' GT3 with a couple hundred miles and bought it, It was spec'd just the way I wanted. I've decided to keep my E63s also since it has low miles(6k) and I would probably take a big hit trying to sell, plus, she's just a mean 4 door luxury car. Sorry guys, since I'm keeping the E, the Renntech mufflers are staying on. Here is a couple pics of the GT3.

Meant to do a write up after the delete. Anyways,
Drone: 3.5/10 Touchy subject as it differs for each individual. I find it very liveable with day to day use.
Powerloss: None
CEL: None
Just to be specific for those who are interested to do this mod in the future: Cats deleted, Resonator replaced with an H/X pipe and mufflers deleted/replaced with a straight pipe. Would I do it again? 100%. The bark it gives during initial start up is mesmerizing to say the least. The snaps and crackles it gives, orgasmic. Overall very happy with it.
Robbie congrats mate. Beautiful ride, love the colour. Glad your sticking with the E, can't ask for more in terms or practicality and fun.

Wow -- I can't even imagine how loud your car must be with no cats, no resonator and no mufflers. My ears hurt thinking about it. I still have cats, but deleted my resonator and have valved mufflers, which when open are essentially a delete. Under full throttle with the valves open, I find my car very loud.

Congrats on the GT3 -- it is one fine car!
