That's great news. Glad you FINALLY got a car that your pleased with after that experience.

I'm guessing you will need drag radials or R888 on the car all the time to handle such power on the streets.

Good choice. 9 second 93oct dd is $5k-$6k away.

Who you dealing with for mods/tuning?

You are just over analyzing this. go sit in the corner.

I read its something like 200 lbs. lighter, that's ALOT.
Actually, I am thinking it could make the difference. Consider this:

height of 2014 E63 56.8"
height of 2014 CLS63 55"
Drag is proportional to velocity squared

So at higher speeds the drag force increases substantially. I don't know what the actual frontal cross sectional areas are for the two models but put side to side the CLS looks more slippery. If you have enough gears what determines your top speed...... the balance between motive force and drag (plus a bit of rolling friction etc)

interesting, it could be your right and this is giving the CLS the edge.

Do you know the weight difference?

i thought the weight difference was significant, and that the E having that would offset the CLS drag advanage.

The E has the advantage in drag coefficient...

It may have a small advantage in drag coefficient but that doesn't prove it has less drag. Drag force is proportional to both drag coefficient and frontal area. The CLS appears to have less frontal area...

what about the weight difference. Doesn't that also play a big role?
