The simple answer is yes, in S+ the cars sounds louder. For the most part C, S and S+ effect how quickly the transmission is shifting into gears. Throttle manipulation (along with changes in other ECU/TCU parameters) is how it is done. S+ at WOT makes the maximum sound come out sooner and more sudden.
