Thanks. I really like the build of the car. Minor things can be addressed, and I'm not expecting perfection. I agree it looks like there was a car seat in back, I'll be putting a car seat in back too. But we put covers down to minimize indentions, I wonder if those creases would minimize over time?

Dealer opens in a couple hours. I think there's a price I'm a buyer at, just not sure what that is yet for this vehicle.

Cardinal/Hyancinth Red is my favorite stock color for these and is probably the rarest next to Dolomite Brown. The leather dents can be removed by a talented individual with a heat gun, I am told. I’m waiting until my sons car seat is out for good before I try it.

No worries, wasn't trying to come across as rude if I did. It appears to have sold anyways.

Made an offer on this car of $67k, the same price as the red one in Marin. Sticker prices are within a couple hundred dollars of each other. Was told we’re about $5k apart. Definitely disappointed.

....what’s the hold up man? You just got them to drop $5,000 off their asking price. If that $3,000 really breaks your bank or you don’t think you could get $3,000 of enjoyment out of your new wagon that you love the configuration of...what exactly are you shopping for?

They agreed to $3k off asking, so we’re still $5k different. I have to draw the line somewhere, and as a cheap accountant I’ve never regretted not spending a dollar.

FWIW, I think 3k off just gets the price to "fair" territory. In other words, I think their list price is around 3k over market value.

I appreciate the perspective. I have my limit and this started with a $50k 2013 that was at the local MB dealer over the summer. I emailed the Atlanta dealer last night and offered $68k. Anymore than that and I’d rather keep my money, just my limit.

Obviously your money, your decision. But they seem to be more than reasonable with their pricing to you, considering the car and what it is.

Just as an FYI. I was able to get them to 73500 out the door. That is with the NC 3% and their fees, etc which ended up having the car around 71k or so. I believe that 3k number 100%, that's the number they want to get out of it.

I turned it down after a fellow board member reminded me to make sure it was the color I wanted (which it wasnt deep down).

What 3k number are you referring to?

ah, sorry. Just was saying you offered 68k and they were able to get to 71k for me. That turns out to be the difference.

I did get a price change alert last night, it went down. Might have a shot now.

Understood. So did you negotiate then decide it wasn’t the car for you?

i just woke up to the price change too, we’re still pretty far apart. I don’t see this working out.

Thoughts on either of these two vehicles and what fair pricing of each is?

https://www.mercedesofpalmsprings.co...hh7gb2eb065610

https://www.mercedesbenzbeaverton.co...hh7gb7ea972875

Kind of tired of looking. Both are CPO which is a big plus for me.

Thanks,
Ryan

The one in Palm Springs definitely a better deal.

FWIW, it took me a year to find mine (that was over 3 yrs ago). Best of luck in your decision!

I appreciate the opinion.

And I’m not trying to wait a year to make a purchase. These cars ain’t getting any younger.

What is your criteria?
-Price range?
-Any specific years?
-Color or option preferences?
-Number of owners?
-Warranty?
-Location?

Great question. I think the best way of answering would be a very good condition CPO car that isn't black/black. $60k or under would be great, but of course I'm willing to pay more for a newer car with more options.

The Beaverton car has sold. I think I’m going to try and work a deal on the Palm Springs car. The Palm Springs car is light on options, are any options considered ‘must-have’? What’s a fair price for this that I should be negotiating for?
Thanks,
Ryan

In terms of the major options (VIN decoder pdf attached):
  • Has parking assist with the 360 camera. The former I never use but the latter I use all the time to help me align in parking spots.
  • Has the pano sunroof, which is pretty common but not always the case.
  • Does not have distronic plus (semi-autonomous highway driving). This is nice to have on a long leisurely trip but I wouldn't call it a deal-breaker.
  • Does not have B&O audio. I only listen to podcasts so I don't consider this a deal-breaker either since the H&K system is supposed to be quite good already.
In terms of fair pricing, cargurus.com shows fair price as ~$57k using their real-time market data (based on actual dealer prices): https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/instan...HH7GB2EB065610.

Thanks, that is helpful. Do you think $57k is fair? Seems like it to me.

I missed a couple of things it does have: 1) lane keep/safety stuff, 2) carbon fiber trim (this is a pricey option), 3) night package. Yea, I would say 57k is fair for CPO. The only thing I would want ideally is the distronic plus for longer trips but not a big deal.
