Here is one similar to that as well:
Doesnt seem like it would be any better. Most likely worse in the long run. Less velocity, hotter air, and ugly lol Here is my newest setup I am trying for awhile. I used the original crappy ducts I had from old car and this one combined with the bent piece to get it away from the engine. The rubber couple I used to mount to the slender scoop. I then Cut all baffles even under shroud cover and fabricated some scoops that go into the grille to catch the air and create some movement into the original spot. So far it seems to help a ton at 50+ mph. Doing some more testing then may may a couple sets for sale.

Great minds think a like. I was going to make some CF scoops to do this very thing. probably in the spring when I take the front end off to wrap it.

I have 2012 CLS63 with 830 HP (modified turbos, downpipes etc...) the UPD Kit did nothing noticeable on the dyno - we tried both. with and without - power was pretty much the same - maybe it has to do withmodified turbos and increased air need - I bought the RK kit now - will test it when I have it

Luke, I fitted a UPD kit last week whilst at MSL (30mins). Didn't get a chance to do back to back dyno runs due to time but will do in the next couple of weeks as the map needs finishing.
The filter that comes with it flows better than the K&N and OEM filters so straight away is a benefit. The spacer lifts the box and new filter and in doing so considerably increases the surface area below the filter compared to when fitted with a K&N and also OEM filter. This has to be of benefit as the normal set up sees the majority of the OEM filter virtually blocked with regard to air flow. I'd say the approx 20-30bhp claims are right, but we'll see.
The RK kit looks good so will be interested to see actual results.

i'm thinking on combining the UPD spacer with an K&N filter or a Weistec. Is it a good choice not to use the green filter which comes with UPD spacer? What is the best air filter option, Weistec or K&N?

The UPD green filter is much shallower than the K&N filter (allows more air flow) and flows Air better than the K&N. So whilst the K&N flows better than the standard OEM filter, it is nearly as thick dimensionally so doesn't offer that much more of a benefit to improve airflow.
K&N in the middle
Zero restriction to airflow with the new UPD filter and spacer fitted
K&N offers slight improvement over OEM filter

UPD kit fitted
UPD kit fitted
Right box with UPD spacer and filter fitted
It's only the ECU that sits below the level of the covers once the UPD spacers are fitted. It look fine......
