Dropped my car off for custom dyno tuning today

Would putting traction in sport handling mode possibly help to minimize wheelspin without cutting any power? I always thought this was the best way to launch it.

I would love to see that happen on stock turbos!
Also keep in mind STD vs SAE correction factors, SAE reads lower.

from all my logs i rarely hit 19psi... conditions have to be perfect (low temp which is almost never in FL, low humidity which is also almost never in FL )
I think i have hit 19 psi maybe 3 times in 1 yr of logging my renntech/dp tuned.... 17-18 seems to be normal max i hit

Just was told they can tune via mail order now also based off my tune. But again it's not the same as being custom tuned like I was. Sounds like for the most part you would get the same tune I'm running but it would not be dialed in like it was on my car.
At at least it's another option for people to look at. But anyone who's close to phx they would much rather do a full custom tuning

It is my understanding (poking around the WINpep software with the owner of a performance shop that had a Dynojet) that the STD factor can be manipulated based on what the dyno operator manually inputs as the altitude of the dyno location. He showed me how the dyno numbers would change based on that input. The SAE correction was based on actual readings for the ambient conditions and would not be impacted by operator input. So in theory if your dyno location was below sea-level (not likely) and that altitude was input correctly, STD would read lower than SAE.

SAE is assuming less favourable weather conditions than STD so it reads between 2-4% lower on the dyno.
Also located in Toronto here so I don't think this would apply to my case. The shop said the SAE factor they now switched over to reads lower than STD which they used to use before.

I didn't say SAE figures aren't corrected numbers, it is obviously a correction factor based on ambient conditions. I was saying there is manual input involved (at least in the old WINpep software) that allowed the STD factor to be changed based on altitude. Whereas the SAE correction factor had no ability to be manipulated through the software. You could manipulate the SAE correction through making the sensor read warmer more humid air while the car is actually being run in cool dry air.

Also updated the post on location as I'm not below sea level where your theory would apply.
shop had said in our case, SAE correction factor reads lower for us.

wow. perhaps we can get a group custom tune weekend if your tuner is willing to go on a tour. Rent a dyno etc. Could be pretty reasonable :-). Thoughts?
