Why you should do your service yourself
others to handle.
I have again been reminded as to why I do this stuff myself. I had the car in for service this morning, and despite requesting Mobil 1 0W40, and being told when I dropped the car off that they had some for me, I noticed a stack of empty MB- branded oil bottles beside the car. After several minutes of websearches, I found that it's just a 5W40, not the 0W40 I requested.
To make things worse, the service guy broke the temperature sensor under the glove box when swapping out the cabin air filter.
Grrrr!

So I checked the torque setting on the rims and couldn't even break the studs loose. I had to use an extension to get them loose. Absolutely sure the mechanic used a gun to mount the rims. I feel like I've been vandalized, every time I bring the car in for service.
I'm a perfectionist when it comes to wrenching so I go after every item they worked on, just to make sure they didn't f... up. Found a somewhat loose hose clamp on the intercooler pipe as well.
On the other hand, I had foggy LED headlights inside, when the temps were below freezing. They installed a retrofit silicate dry pack where the service opening of the housing used to be. That job was well done and the moisture seems to be out.
I still do the service myself, wherever I can. Next will be a brake job on all 4 corners.
