Just signed up for a -12 E63 AMG TT Wagon
I have been looking a while for a few years old E63 and came over this -12 model year 5.5TT wagon. Black with black interior. It is the pre-facelift body but has the updated interior parts. It has a few optional extras but is not fully equipped as most of these are. It has two prev owners and 75k km.
I have signed the contract and will buy it unseen, as I live in Norway and the car sits at a Audi dealership in Leverkusen, Germany.
Looking forward to get it!

Forgot to mention that as I will export it, Audi is unable to give a guarantee. They will however do an inspecion and fix any errors of course. They will also service it by MB.
Anything I should look out for before leaving with the car? I understand the M157 engine and the transmission is rock solid when stock?

Flight down to Germany tomorrow. Will pick up the car on monday. Then I will have a 1800 km drive home (1100 miles) via Denmark (good roads), Sweden (good roads) and Norway (not so good). Need to split that trip over two days.
Yep, looking forward to it. Only concern is that the car has Pirelli Sottozero tires on it. I think they can handle high speeds but I dont know about how they will behave if I hit icy conditions in the middle of Norway.
Anyone of you guys have the same tires and and any experience on snow/ice?

I do and the good rubber only lasts about 500-600mi then the grip on ice and snow degrades fast despite having a lot thread left. I do not like them on the water either as they aquaplane very easily at 60-80mph
New car with lots of torque and ice can be a problem, albeit nice.
I am in Seattle lots of rain and slush this year.
There aren't many options in the US.

Picked up the car on monday. It was really clean, looked almost new both inside and out.
The car scared me when I test drove it, in a good way. It pulled really hard.
The drive through germany didn't go as I hoped since there was rain almost continously, and the A1 had a lot of traffic and roadwork. But I did get to stretch its legs a few times when the conditions allowed it. Got home a couple of hours ago, not too tired.
It was a bit stiffer than I thought but not an issue. Think I will fit 18" wheels for next winter.
All in all very satisfied with it, so far.
One concern though: The oil temp was almost constantly in blue digits, showing around 70-75C (160F), lower than water temp. Is that normal for this engine?

Blue all day long is normal for this car. It takes FOREVER to get into white and sometimes I've seen it drop back into the blue even while driving.
I don't think 18" wheels fit over the brakes, but definitely do some searches before pulling the trigger on winters

Nice story, I am flying down from San Francisco to LA to pick up my 2012 E63 Wagon next week. It has 39K miles and has the P30 option. What I am thinking of doing is black out all the chrome and emblems including the grille. Your thoughts? Car is White with Black interior.
