Do I have a "weak" engine?

So I wanted to get baseline numbers so if I ever tune or do any other mods I can see how much I gained...the dyno was on a Mustang and it did 492 hp and 501 torque. I thought the numbers were right in line with what a stock 2016 E63S should be doing until I started doing some research. Apparently they're underrated and people are getting closed to 530hp at the wheels on a Mustang. What do you guys think?

i dont think anyone is getting 530 whp on mustang dyno stock... those are more inline with dynojet numbers...

your 492 whp stock on mustang is close to 530-540 whp on dynojet so you numbers are normal.

I had 465awhp on a mustang and have 0 concerns about my car being weak. It's just the dyno.

If you really want to know track your car and report back with time and speed. That will give us a better idea.

My car is tuned now and getting downpipes installed tomorrow. I am re dyoning on the same dyno this saturday, will report back. Also check out tthis graph...this is from my F10 M5 with tune and downpipes. Only put down a bit more than a stock E63S...less drivetrain loss though due to being only rwd.

Is your car AWD? Yeah forget dyno numbers, take it to a track to get baseline 1/4 #s. Although 492WHP on a mustang dyno for a stock M157 isn't weak at all.

Not worried at all it seems that no two dynos even from brand to brand are the same. We have collected all our numbers on a mustang dyno and are super happy for an S wagon.

Stock 450hp - 480trq
StageI 504 - 592
StageII 536 - 649

And I thought my locally known mustang was the heartbreak dyno of all heartbreakers. I didn't think I'd see another car with lower stock numbers than mine (which isn't a bad thing). I always enjoy the look on peoples faces who think they have more power because they use a dynojet and get slapped by something with low mustang numbers.

Picking up 170wtq must be fun haha

Super happy with how everything turned out...can't wait until the track opens once again here for the spring, seeing that we did all this work after the track closed....also the stock and stage I numbers were done with no name 93 octane fuel....I'll never do that again. I know that it is all supposed to be the same but here in the land of not being able to pump your own fuel not everyone pays the same amount of attention!

Literally put in my tunec ecu 40 minutes ago and drove it back to work 10 miles. ground is kind of damp so traction light was turning on in 3rd gear but the car definitely feels faster. will post dyno after i go saturday
