Seems like it is an additional port for coolant line. It could be used in a different model

Interesting what does it vent to? Like a Pressure vent? I noticed it when I first go my car. Wonder if I could plumb a Little BOV lol

Is it a port to the air side or the water side? Water would make more sense but I'm guessing.

Out of curiosity, .......what brings you to this part, and why do you feel the need to turn it/remove it/poke it with a stick???

Well what brought me to this part is the fact that I haven't seen it on many other intercoolers I've seen in pictures or in person. That makes me wonder what it is and why mine has it and others do not. It looks like the diameter is a bit small for a Dump valve/ Blow off valve but the positioning would be perfect if I could make an adapter with BOV instead of welding a BOV on a factory charge pipe. Even welding one on, there's no a lot of space anywhere to do that. Hope that answers your question

We use that as a pressure port and measure boost there on the dyno. We had to make a special aluminum fitting to go into it but it is a port for air. I was going to make a water injection kit that goes into that port but not all tt 5.5 motors have that nipple.

Thats the input I was needing thank you for your reply! I havent taken mine out yet are the easy to get in and out? It looks like there is also a vent line that goes there too. Is the hole big enough to make a bov port?

Thanks again!

We use a needle nose plier to move the lock out of the way that I will describe as a finger that holds the piece in place and then I use another plier to turn the actual piece and remove it. The port is large and you would need to make some type of adapter to use it.

We machined an aluminum piece on our lathe that we attach a vacuum line to so that we can get a boost reading for our dyno.

Sounds simple enough. I got my boost/vacuum from the port right before the throttle body that's used for the Evap purge.
