2012 E63 upgrade to 2013 E63 split cooling?

2012 E63 upgrade to 2013 E63 split cooling?
I heard through the grapevine that it's possible to upgrade the 2012 E63 to the 2013 split cooling system.
Does anyone know whats involved? I have to assume that the cars are pretty similar and that one can buy all factory parts and do the upgrade.
If anyone can shed some light on this, i'd GREATLY appreciate it.

When you say "not easy", are you sating the bumper has to come off, etc. OR there are some serious mods that have to be done? I have to imagine that all MB parts can be used for the conversion. Or so i hope...

Yes, the bumper has to come off and there are more parts needed to do it right than what were listed in the thread. It's just a lot more complicated than it should be to divorce the systems and add a small fill reservoir.

Just out of curiosity, have you done it? Were you able to use all factory parts? How much was the total $?

It will take more than 3-4 hours, twice that probably. I got the bumper off and realized the parts list from the other thread was incomplete. Factory parts were $200ish and another $100 for miscellaneous parts.

Im shocked its so involved. I would think its as simple as replacing the hose where the 2 loops connect with 2 independent hoses. Then routing a hose for the overflow on the intercooler loop. Mount the overflow and done.

I know, it should be that simple. Besides hoses, there were some proprietary fittings at that I didn't want to undo without being able to replace them.
