Exhaust system options
hey everyone! Just wanted to get your opinions on certain exhaust systems I'm looking for on my W212 E63S.
ideally I would have loved Armytrix but it's not available for the car.
There is:
Meisterschaft
Power Agency
FI exhaust
Renntech
Price range goes from CAD$4300-7500 here in Toronto . I'm just not sure which is a good option.
Also, besides an exhaust system, what are downpipes purposes?

Take a look at Alpha. Sale right now for $2799 for exhaust. If you want to add downpipes you can for an additional cost. I am also in the market for an exhaust for a 2014 E63S... I would like to spend under 3K installed and shipped.https://www.amsperformance.com/produ...4-e63-amg.html

Hey man, we should have talked last night. I was the black cls63 at the MBTN meet. Downpipes to custom 3" back half is the way to go. Message me on MBTN fb group for details.

I appreciate you helping out, so thank you in advance. Just dusted off the car (was in my garage since first snow in nov). I have the mod bug, with the factory warranty on an AMG vehicle I dont want to mess with the ECU or anything that would conflict ie: down pipes.... The install isnt easy and can cause issues, and without the ecu not worth the $. Just going to stick with an exhaust update to get some better flow and sound, 2-3% HP gain. The day that the factory warranty is over, going to to Alpha for a Performance Package to get up to 850-900HP and say goodbye to daily driving. I have a while to go, only at 19K miles now. I don't know if i can wait that long ahha

If you want sound get muffler delete. If you want some performance improvement get downpipes. You want sound with performance improvement get catless downpipes. No reason spending $2-$3k on an exhaust just for sound. Spend half on catless downpipes and call it a day and if you're worried about a check engine light then get the catted downpipes. And if you want to know I have speedriven downpipes with an ECU flash.

I posted a thread on this topic and concluded that aftermarket exhaust are good for noise with minimal gains. You can get some good down pipes to that adds a good grunt and some HP. Remove to resonators and you can increase sound, overall cost is less than getting an exhaust system.

Removing resonators costs 150 to 200 bucks if you go straight pipes. I doubt you'll notice much performance from exhaust anyway, so I'd try the resonators first and see if you like the results before sinking money into mods that don't really do much power wise.
Very little to lose.

i think all you need is a tune and x-pipe and resonate delete - the extra power opens the car up and no drone while cruising, but when you got on it and at WOT its a party
save the $3500 on an exhaust that will only yield 20hp and spend $750 on x-pipe

which x Pipe do you prefer

The straight pipes will be the loudest. On paper a (properly placed) X-pipe should gain a few hp...but not enough to actually notice.
