Honestly, I thought raudiace had an S-model. They only brought the non-S model here for one year and they sold much less of them so you rarely see them. But you could have brought that to our attention without being an @ss.

next time just read about difference between S and non-S. For what you paid more 😂😂😂

I have read the technical differences (LSD, additional intercooler, red calipers, different gauges, 27hp). I just didn't know they blocked off the front grill like that and added what looks to be a sensor. I am glad you got a laugh out of it. Then again, you must be easily amused.

Its an ambient temperature sensor, my cls has the same plastic blockage with the sensor in it except my cooler is on the other side and exposed, there is nothing behind where the sensor is, just empty space. I am not sure where they put the sensor for those with 2 coolers.

I am going to check for the sensor in the grill.
Maybe it is where the camera is mounted.
I did not look at the rear of the car to see if it was a S or not but I think all the 2014s and up were AWD and S. Non S were 2012/13s.

In the USA all 2014 and up *wagons* are S Models. The sedan can be had in either S Model or not. 2014 and up they are all (wagon and sedan) 4matic. Other countries differ, I think you could get a non-S wagon in Canada in 2014.

Car in question was a 2014 and up so why only one cooler
I thought 2014s up all had 2 cooler in the front and one large one by the radiator. I know my car has 3 coolers. I have a Radiator,AC Condenser, Intercooler Primary (size of the AC Condenser) then two half size coolers, one for oil and the second for the transmission.

Yeah I thought all facelifts had the divorced cooling, and heat exchangers at both front corners...

no such thing as S or non S before the facelift of 14+ models. 12-13 were with with PP package or not and had no bandage to indicate which version they were like the S/non s have.

no, as others mentioned before, only the S-model gets the additional cooler..... that is the difference between your car and the one you saw (your car is S-model, other one is not hence the difference)

The only way to tell if the 2012-2013 had the P30 package on the exterior was the red brake calipers on the P30.

Hmm...2014s and up and all AWD but we also have a "S" AWD
your car is S-model, other one is not hence the difference)
I thought 2014s and UP were all S and AWD... So there is an AWD non S 2014s and up... Seem like every 2014s up have been S so I thought that 2014s and up were all AWD "S"

no, 2014 has non-s (550hp) and S-model (577hp).... no reason to have a S-model name if there was no non-S

It's times like these that I wish there was a RealOEM equivalent for modern Mercedes that didn't require a VIN. That way we could drill down to the bumper parts and see that the cover was for "cars without S-model" or something to that effect.
