After market air suspension - possible on an E63 wagon?

I've recently purchased a late 2014 E63 wagon (we call them estates in the UK!). Seems a much more usable car to my previous BMW M4 and C63 PPP.

Anyway as much as I love the car I would like to make her stand out a little more than any other E class estate on the road (a lot of them over here). I am on the hunt for a set of wheels and also considering fitting air suspension to give it that low look, at the same time have the ability to raise when driving normally. Appreciate I will lose the 'amg' ness of the car/handling etc but its something i've always wanted to do a car for a while now and it will never see a track (plus its our third car so not driven daily).

Having looked about I can't seem to find any info on air suspension / W212 mercs, has it been done before (am sure it has). All that comes up on searches are the factory air bags / lowering links. Can anyone help in advising what companies should I look for with regards to sourcing a kit. I also presume I would need to get an indy to plug into Star to disable suspension modes etc?

Thanks

Most people use the KW HAS kit. Search that on this forum and you'll find a wealth of information. No need for any STAR programing.

I did look into these as i've had KWs on some of my previous cars, however to alter the height I would need to get under each corner etc. I would actually like to alter the height electronically when I want to (parking the car, as I approach bumps etc).....

Down to this kind of height and of course up to normal height...

I don't know of anyone doing it, but I'm pretty sure E550s have front air suspension, so you may be able to retrofit those parts and use an aftermarket controller for height.

You'll have better luck finding information about air suspensions on other forums dedicated to the 'stance' trend.

search out OCKLASSE - he added air bags on a CL55 - see the video here -

I totally get what you are saying -

also check out http://www.airsociety.net/category/vendors/

it sounds like it will be a custom install but doable and will look great - have seen alot of Audi wagons but very few MB that are sitting on bags - mostly due to the amount built.

keep us posted on how things progress
