Harsh 4th - 3rd downshifts
Hi Guys,
anyone feel like the car isn’t revmatching properly on the 4-3 downshift? All works great, other than during downshifts. It feels so harsh that I’m worried it’ll lock up during an off ramp and potentially destabilize the car.
This happens in sport and Sport+. I don’t ever drive in comfort so I didn’t bother checking.
This happens automatically, and when driving using the paddles.
This seems to have appeared a few months ago after the dealer reset the transmission for a different issue alltogether.
Ive taken it in twice already regarding this and nothing has been done.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

Same issue here 4-3-2 downshifts all noticeably rough in S and S+ mode. No issue in C mode but then again I don’t drive C mode much.
Dealer told be they don’t notice anything unusual and behavior is normal which id like to drive another e63 to compare myself.....

Might go back to Motorwerks Barrington where i bought the car and try them.
But curious which dealers (Westmont, Naperville, Hoffman Estates) are better service if you have any experiences with those? Thx

Peter - which Chicagoland dealer have you had the best experiences with? I live downtown Chicago and FJ Chicago has never been good. Have taken my car in 4 times this past year for a coolant leak where fluid is visible dripping and they say it passed the pressure test and is fine. The harsh down shift they say is normal, but honestly being a downtown dealer there is ZERO places to drive the car normally considering all the constant traffic and congestion.

naperville did my buyback and worked aggressively to make things right for me

Reading the workshop tips for the 722.9 it appears that DAS must be used to clear and then perform the shift adaptations. Sounds like a dealer task.
