He has another video going into the features - i.e. the built in GPS for Google Maps, and it still having full functionality of the OEM features ( i.e. if you have the 360 surround view cameras )

Saw this and was considering it. Really would prefer just to have the larger screen without any of the added functionality but regardless, not a bad options. Especially at the cost.

I've been considering this upgrade for a while now, I'm just curious how well the oem system integrates with the new screen and its functions in the real world. Does the oem click wheel still function? Audio commands? Does its navigation software directly replace the factory nav/traffic/gas station recommendation etc? Is the grammar on the commands and menu accurate? Sat radio? Bluetooth connections and functions? Video in motion? What about support/updates? Etc etc
Like, sure the screen interface itself is plug and play, and that would be great if that's all it was. But with all that extra software, I'm skeptical that all the oem programming still functions seamlessly. That being said, I'm still very interested in this. 10.5 inch touchscreen alone is worth the price of admission.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Not for me. Like what is found in many current MB models, stuck on ipads IMO looks out of place and cheapens the appearance of the interior. But to each his own.

Lots of info in there. Not sure how much of it is relatable to the w212 platform, but I'd bet dollars to donuts the screens are the same manufacturer..

To save anyone from reading all 16+ pages, there is a new version coming out right away, you're going to want to wait. Function on the original version was decent for some, tricky for others and seamless for few, issues seemed to be mostly software/app related and audio source related. Chris The Swede (member here) is the contact for both sales and support, though you can source the product independently with mixed results.

Exactly. One of the worst designs I have ever seen in a car is the stupid afterthought IPAD looking screen. Everyone I know laughs when they see it... as if MB forgot the radio until the very end.

While I much prefer an integrated screen I still think the graphics, size, touchscreen aspect, all completely integrated plus more is a significant upgrade. I get it if you can't get past the audi/benz ipad look, though. To each their own. Our stock small screen, menu interface and on the fly usability is no picnic.

To each their own - but I personally enjoy the ability of having Google Maps up on screen and just larger real estate than having my cell mounted and looking at it.
Do I wish that it was somehow able to be implemented within the OEM display hood? Of course. At the end of the day however, to me, it doesn't look terrible, and it gives me the modern functionality that I would want.

There's this, but I have zero idea of fit, finish, etc.
So, your options are keep to stock, try an ipad look that is known to work on a few Mercs already, or give the above a shot as well.

Found a video of it's functionality on youtube.
Still watching, I wonder if it works with the stock joystick? Probably does since it has the blue connector in the back. Makes me wonder if it works with the 360* camera though, that would definitely be a deal breaker for me if it didn't.

Chris, from CKM, told me the new version is coming in soon. Yes, it's the 10.25 inch, which I actually prefer, and it will supposedly double the memory to 2GB and have a higher Android update. 6.X, 7.X? Who knows. MPH now working? We'll see.
