Continental tires

Hi... Has anybody experience with Contis on their amg wagon?
I love them on my E500 wagon and was wondering if I should switch from the Zeros.

Thank you

Continental extreme sport are much better than pirelli's, but Michelin PSS or PS4 is slightly better

I had them on my car. Decent tire but I found the sidewall to feel a little too soft for this big sedan. They rode well and had impressive grip but I had very little confidence in them at high speeds.

Forums are almost always hi-po audiences, and everybody pushes you towards max performance summer tires. The Pilot Super Sports are undoubtedly great.

If you do need an ultra high performance all-season (somebody will probably chime in here that those words shouldn't be used together, but that's the category) then the Conti DWS 06 is great choice. We replaced the tires on two other vehicles with the DWS 06's and both times have been very happy with the results. It our experience, it's a great tire for the other 95% of your life.

I should add the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is a slightly sportier alternative in the ultra high performance all-season group, and another great choice.

which model of the Contis are you referring to?

I never really liked the DSWs but the new extreme contact was pretty good. Sometimes I prefer it to the excess feedback from my current PSSs with our high rebound shocked cars

I have Conti dws and am very happy ... yes, not as much confidence at high speeds or aggressive turns as the oem all summer tires but they actually pleasantly softened the ride for me and provide me with all weather drivability as this car is my DD

I had a different thread similar to this and I tried to go after the PS4's. They just don't seem to make the 285/30 19's for the rear. Amaerica's tire, Tire Rack, nor the dealer can get them. I have Extreme Contacts on my 2011 and I really like them. They wear better than the PSS's and are noticeably cheaper with close to the same performance.

I just decided to pull the trigger on the new Conti Sports. They have gotten really good reviews. Plus I only get 15 months if I am lucky out of a set of tires anyway. So even if I am not thrilled with them, they will be up soon anyway. I will let you guys know how I like them after I get them and put them through their paces.

I've had a set of Continental ExtremeContact Sport on my 2014 E63 for the last 14 months and about 10k miles. The rears are due for replacement. They are rated at a 30k mile warranty so I'm curious what Discount Tire will do when I take it back. They usually give me a pro-rated credit towards the purchase of a new set. Fronts are fine, but rears are pretty much toast. Overall pretty happy with the performance of the tire.

IIRC, I think I got a little longer life out of my Pilot Super Sport. I think they still make those in the correct size for our W212, but they don't make the PS4's or at least not in the US. Brief check of Tire Rack shows the super sports are indeed available. $370 per tire compared to $270 for the Contis at least for the rear.

Quick update on the Conti ExtremeContact Sport. Apparently they are on national back-order until the beginning of the year. So I may have to go with the DWS06.

If replacing all 4, then yes, PSS would be a no brainer. My fronts are still good. So it's either mis-match with Conti Sport front/Conti DWS06 back, or Conti sport front/PSS rear. The sidewall of the DWS06 at least looks like the sport. Just different tread pattern.
