If a tuner can partner with app developers and come up with a flash tune via android app through obd2 port there would be a lot of profit to be made
judt like mhd flasher for bmw. One of the great things about bmw is easy tune abilities I can’t lie

hmm
"If the ECU gets flashed via OBD, there is a chance that it will be recorded in the ecu by a “Flash Counter” in which the dealership will be able to see. By tuning the ecu via bench there will not be any trace. All you need to do if you have to go in for warranty is get the vehicle flashed back to stock."
There is a 25% Black Friday sale on regular flashes, but the OBDII flashes are so cheap. I was about to pull the trigger but now I'm going to keep hunting for another ECU, and just do the OBDII flash when the tool is available in Canada.
Poor sales dude - this thread killed an almost done deal and now I'm waiting

I would think you would still want dual ECU’s. Especially if you are renting the flasher. Really what is gained here is you dont have to mail your ECU to them. If it were me, I would only flash the 2nd ECU AND ALWAYS have that stock ECU ready.
I can tell you first hand that my M156 tune flasher that I purchased from EC stopped flashing after a few times. I contacted EC a couple of times and even made a youtube video of the issue and emailed the link to them. In the end, they never replied. I ended up selling the car soon after so I dropped it. But, when I went to sell the car the ECU had smog issues and the dealer techs could not reset it. They put in a new ECU under warranty and the car was fine. But I would bet the ECU issue was related to the flashing. Fortunately dealer wasnt wise to it.
Seriousl guys,
Which ever method you use to tune your car, do it on a cloned ECU.
